Weights are expensive AF, why shouldn't I just go to the iron shop? Iron is 0.20 cents a kg here. 20 kg weights cost 50 euros in yuropisstan.
Could it be possible? I mean blacksmithing has been around for thousands of years, it can't be that hard, right?

Do it faggot.. you won’t though.

just make concrete plates, retard. You'll still need a bar, hunt for an old rusty one and clean it up
>>
>>77271831
The cost of going through the trouble to blacksmith your own weights would exceed the cost of your own weights.

If you'd drop those they would break

Weak men talking about why making your own weights is too hard, this is why you're ngmi. Where I stay every other house has makeshift weights, get some concrete a metal bar and a bucket of your choice it's literally that easy
>>
>>77271867
just don't drop them then?
>>77271831
use whatever has weight. get a sledgemmer and use that as a macebell substitute. fill buckets with sand. punch yourself in the dick. do whatever.

>dropping the weight
You didn't lift it

Where would you get pliers to hold the weight and how would you seperate it from the bar when it hardens

You don't even need to blacksmith it. Just get solid iron, get sturdy bags, and lift that. I lifted rocks during covid - OHP, rows, deads, zercher squats/lunges, bench press, it's the same thing. Add chins for biceps and you're done. Same bodybuilding routine, works just as well.

Fuck you anon, now I'm wondering how much the electricity to melt 25kgs in a home electric smelter would cost.
>>
>>77271831
I have wondered this often as well. Rubber mulch is 15-25c per lb and it's gotta be easier to melt than metal.

You have to get the correct alloy %s, temperature, a proper furnace, a load of molds to be efficient. LOTS of trial and error
>>
It should honestly be pretty easy if you got the basic tools like an angle grinder and a drill with a hole saw that handles metal. Then you can just buy a big sheet of metal. That means you need a car to transport it, probably with a trailer or pay to get it delivered.

Then you can just cut out circles with the angle grinder and drill out holes for the barbell/dumbbell with a drill and hole saw.

This guy used a cnc and some pretty expensive tools to make a full dumbbell set of sheets of scrap metal, but expensive tools shouldn't be necessary desu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv6aYCEjCd4

Anon, you can't make weights out of rubber. Every dumbbell or weight plate you're thinking of that has a rubber coating has iron underneath.
>>
Sandcasting metal isn't that hard but concrete is probably cheaper.

not only will OP not make his own weights, he will not lift any weights. not once.

Why not? Why not make a plywood mold, pack it with rubber mulch, squeeze it and heat it? Density isn't that bad....

It doesn't have to get hot enough to melt just to amalgamate the rubber peices into one mass.
