At what age did you grow out of squats and deadlifts, /fit/?
>>
Someone needs to do an essay on the amount of vagueposting and schizos on this site and especially this board, this shit isn't normal anymore
>>
>>77271855
whats vague about asking when you grew out of squats and deadlifts?
>>
>>77271860
Those are core exercises to build strength. If you "grew out of them" you either grew in to a pussy or transitioned to a faggot.
What's with the picture too?
>>
>>77271848
Around 2 years into lifting.

Only thing spinal compression and anterior-posterior shear forces are core to is injury. Ask Ronnie what his reward for taking these movements to their logical conclusion was.

The thread topic is usually the image not the post itself i.e. lust provoking image

>ask the roidraging faggot who did things the human body wasn't meant to do
as far from logic as humanly possible

Stopped deadlifting in my mid 20s and absolutely nothing changed except I wasn’t as good at deadlifting anymore. I do hack, pendulum and Zercher squats but I haven’t done a conventional barbell squat in years

I still think some sort of squatting movement is a good idea for most people but I got absolutely nothing out of deadlifting and did it because everyone else did. It is a stupid exercise
>>
>>77272061
I’m sure you can fuck yourself up doing anything at all if you’re an insane roided up tumor.

>ask ego lifter with bad form about his conclusion

You get massive thunder thighs and ass from just a few months of squatting + dl, and the results are permanent because of how leg-centric the human body is in a variety of ways. hell, many fatties get that without squatting in the gym a single day in their life.

there's really no need to squat and deadlift for years if you aren't a compfag. and, frankly, there's no good reason to be a compfag either. if anything, its way too easy to end up bottom-heavy if you do these lifts for years. women like big ass and thighs, yes, but men take that knowledge and get completely carried away.

It's an old /mu/ meme from like 2012
>at what age did you grow out of metal, /mu/?
>>
Still do those at 34, albeit Im staying within the 2-3 plates territory

Once I realized squats require too much focus to actually train the target muscle. I get a better pump , can load more weight, feel the target muscles, and actually train to failure on the pendulum/ hack squat.

10+ rep back squats just end up being cardio and trying to survive the set, as 400+ pounds is trying to just collapse your body the entire time.

If you play sports or the win for sports specific reasons I can see squats still being valid... Otherwise they just zap the life out of you in ways that don't benefit leg training.

Had a great time doing both with kettlebell. Very fun :)

I was 22. Nowadays, I do BGS and RDLs.

Theres more to fitness than gay larping powershart backsquats and conventional heavy deadlifts you know.

This was my experience too. After I hit 4.5pl8 I realized that I just looked fucking ridiculous with how big my ass cheeks were getting
>>
>>77275191
Pics?
>>
>>77275191
Why did you not grow the rest of your body to match?
>>
>>77272455
Deadlifts and squats dont grow your quads much to give you clown legs, your ass is gonna get a lot of work yes but your adductors and hamstrings will be the main "victims" here
Adductors contribute to clown legs but i doubt any of you are lean or muscular or squat low bar frequently to get that kind of developement and hamstrings are probably the most """"functional"""" muscle after core and forearms so it doesn't hurt to have big ones in fact it's good for them to balance out having a fatass

Very few exercises put on size like squad and diddly does. And I sucked at bench / ohp
>>
>>77272455
thunder thighs are my family's curse, i'm 6'1" 210 lbs and most of it is in my ass and thighs, I look like a fucking gay powerbottom dude it sucks ass
I should've just listened to Scooby and done skateboard squats instead
>>
>>77275219
Can you grow your shoulders to match the size of your ass cheeks?

Yeah, can't you?
>>

Around when I was doing x2 and x3 bodyweight to on them. I still do them once a week but it's so low on my list of priorities it doesn't really matter. I don't need any additional size or strength in the lower body except maybe glutes which I can isolate easy enough.

Consider the following:
- strong deadlifters I see online, especially lightweight ones, have ideal bodies to me
- I am not bodybuilding, I just want to be strong because it makes life and my hobbies easier and is fun
It bothers me that a lot of people here assume everyone's goals are bodybuilding and not health and yknow, fitness.
>>

Sort out your feelings
>strong deadlifters I see online, especially lightweight ones, have ideal bodies to me
aesthetic pursuit
>- I am not bodybuilding, I just want to be strong because it makes life and my hobbies easier and is fun
narrative changes to performance goals
>It bothers me that a lot of people here assume everyone's goals are bodybuilding and not health and yknow, fitness.
narrative changes again to health

which is it? You can just admit you like it it's lot simpler than these mental gymnastics to rationalize something you know isn't perfect.
>>
>>77275323
I can like the (potential) aesthetic results of what I'm working towards while not having those results be my goal.
