I only get them if something afflicts me or gets me randomly angry, it's super weird but it has happened like 3-4 times in the last 4-5 months and its been impossible for me to shake it out, i already know i won't be able to sleep. I read about the 4-7-8 rule, it's somewhat similar to meditation techniques. Or a very cold shower, but i never tried that.

if u didn't eat like 2 or 3 hours ago and you worked out a tad too much - eat sth, u're prolly hungry
but if you know you're not hungry: i keep two 1 kilo plates by the bed, put it on my belly almost below navel but not quite on bare skin, bend knees and tuck yourself nicely so that don't splay (blanked under arse), and breathe by raising the plate up and down slowly, when it gets hot to touch and you're not asleep yet switch plates - works 87% of the time
relax shoulders, sometimes i'm raising arms overhead but circulation can get cut off especially if you're stiff in scapula

why it works? is that got something to do with cooling blood? is it warmth brought up to warm up the plate? is it because cooling agent is placed right atop enteric nervous system responsible for rest and digestion? dunno, it also promotes bowel function as i can feel and hear em churning once the plate is in place, not like "oh shit i need to shit" type sensation but more like relieving tangled or constricted bowels or sth

i came up with the idea because i was watching (and doing) this:
