depends on the rules of the challenge, they might say that as long as his arms bend to 90° it's a rep. There's no universal right way to do pushups, pullups etc. which is why all these challenges about who can do more reps are stupid and nobody takes them seriously

I find having your arms out so wide makes them less strenuous on the chest which is the only thing you want to be hitting if you think about it. So none should count really.

Literally everyone who isn't a cheat repping crossshitter knows this including everyone in that youtube comments section.
They literally made paused rep pushups (bare minimum pause just to confirm chest is full ROM) as an option in the US army and guess what they made the rep requirement lower because it's much harder.
