Three years ago, was the shortest man in the office at 5'9", then I was promoted the two other staff up for the promotion had a fist fight out the front of the office, and another had a mental break down and went into a mental hospital.

Adding to my shortness, we can't wear outside shoes at the office, I walk around in socks, the others wear heeled shoes to be taller.

To be clear, I was not a good pick for the promotion, but compared to the others, i was the only possible choice.

After interviewing a dozen people, I had no idea who to hire for the role, I am not trained for this. So i thought it would be funny to hire the shortest guy. (the owner, a woman, refuses to hire women) Now, after more than two years of this, I am the tallest man in the office.

I highly recommend supporting the careers of the shortest people around you, they are always so appreciative, and you look taller when they are around.
