Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per pound of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

I have a weird issue right now guys. So, I've been up and down. I was super /fit/ once, then I had a leg injury and went to law school and my life was like a mess. I ended up putting on 100+ pounds. I've been slowly getting back down. Now I'm at the final push, still fat, but so close. I recently hit a plateu. I think I surmounted it by doing lots of low intensity cardio / eating less. Anyway, I feel WAY better. Like, my face is noticeably thinner. I also feel better and more mobile. Anyway, I've been using my belt to measure my waist, and, despite this my waist seems to have gotten bigger? Any anons with advice? Also, I've been eating a lot more salt, should put that one out there.

fell off the wagon a bit due to vacation.
got back on though. Ate and drank loads, but also walked 11km up and down steep beach steps for a week so it kinda evened out to just a bit over what I was before the break (101.5). Would have been nice to be under 100 this month but whatever, in two weeks I will be.

Hello fens, I've come on /fit/ after a very long time. I used to be very fit and was a regular on /fit/ back then. But, since college, I've completely given up on working out and dieting, and now I'm super fat, not obese but borderline. And I've lost most of my strength.

So, I wanted some suggestions on how to get back on track. I only have a pul up bar at home and no weights, so these are the exercises I'm aiming to do:
Push-ups
Split Squats
Legraises
Pike Push-ups
Negative pull ups

All of these for 3 sets/6-8 reps 3 days a week. It might seem overly simplistic but I am pretty fat and a beginner, and I'm always very exhausted by my work and college so I can't devote too much time and energy to it.

I was also thinking whether its worth walking for 30 minutes for 3 days alternately. But, it doesn't seem like it'd do any good since its well below the 150 minutes of aerobic exercise that is recommended.

Is there anything I can improve it? I wanted to do plyometric exercises, but I heard that when you're fat, its better not to do high impact exercises that stress your joints.

7 months lifting at eating at around maintenance with 150g -200g protein. lift to failure 3-4 days a week PPL 15-20k steps. This is after a while of omad and walking 30k steps after overdosing, now sober for one year and 3 months. never thought i’d lift. next step is to cut but it’s so hard to not wanna die while cutting, i think i have decent muscle now so cut will probably go crazy
