Swinging back and forth between bulking and cutting has started to get pretty irritating, so I'm thinking about giving a maintenance recomp a proper shot.I think I may have accidentally pulled it off once before. I was doing a long cut, but the deficit was so small that the weight loss was crawling along. At the same time, my lifts were going up, and people genuinely thought I was getting bigger. I was already a trained lifter back then too, which is what makes it interesting.Honestly, this approach sounds a lot more sane than constantly planning your next bulk or cut. I was always told by the internet that staying around maintenance basically means putting your progress on pause, but I'm starting to think that's mostly younger guys being impatient. Bulking and cutting have very obvious directions and feel more productive, even if the long-term difference in results isn't always as dramatic as people make it out to be.Have any of you tried sticking to maintenance and focusing on recomp for an extended period? (assuming training, recovery, protein intake will all be on point)
>>77315131Yes it works if you are patient. >inb4 >>>>>
>>77315131yes instead of just doing a normal cut and dropping 10lbs in a month, it makes much more sense to drag it out for 6 months.
>>77315131I tried it but I'm just too fat-brained to pull it off. If I'm not cutting then I'm eating whatever the fuck I want. Why should I feel hungry all the time if I'm not even trying to lose weight? For me, it's not a simple matter of 'just eat 300 calories extra each day'- it's 'should I eat that whole pizza?' and the fat brain always wins. I admire people who can control themselves but I am a creature of passion and excess.I don't enjoy cutting I just know myself well enough that 'maintenance' is a silly pipe dream for me. Just dropped back below 200lbs and thinking about how nice it would be to get down to 190lbs (again).
>>77316587This is my issue as well and this is why I started counting my calories no matter if I cut, maintain or bulk, I simply enjoy eating trash too much and turn any bulk into dirty bulk.>>77316571You build muscle simultaneously.
>>77315131bulking and cutting is for roiders i promise your body is not changing as much as you think just do a slow bulk for life
