Lifting is so weird for me. I love treadmill and how the slow burn ramps up and you start sweating and the endorphins start flowing and you start feeling good about the exertion. It feels like I'm really achieving something and also I feel happier. When I lift I push myself to failure, as hard as I can go on a set, I'll strain against the weight even if I can't make the last rep, but I don't get that same high. Actually it feels effortless or like I didn't achieve anything. I don't mean effortless like "ohh it's so easy", I mean like the exertion buildup isn't there, it's over almost as soon as it starts, there's no time to process the experience

What's the proper way to do a set and a set of a set? I'm trying to follow this guys beginner program and I think he's asking for way more reps than I can give or will give me progress.Example, if an exercise is 3 sets of 8, do you start with a light weight to warm up, not count those sets and then move to your main weight to do the 3x8? The next time I went to work out I'd get like 5-8 reps and so on until the weight became comfortable.This guy is asking for 8-10 reps on every set, to be able to endure that much I have to unload to a weight that I think is basically useless. Started IF in March and I'm very happy with my results. I need to exercise more but this is from doing minimal exercise, no sodas, no refined sugars. I drink water and I drink cold green tea. Eating window is from 11:30am to 7:30pm. I make sure to eat a good bit of protein to reach what I need and then make sure to get 6-8 hours of sleep atnight.
