>Who is /fat/ for?
For meat murderers working towards a longer life and a better physique through meaningful hard-work, strategy, and dedication. This is not QTDDTOT, stick to questions on fat loss. Post height and weight when asking for advice.
Join our Fatty Contest: https://www.fattycontest.com/

>What do I do first?
1. Read https://physiqonomics.com/fat-loss/
2. Calculate your Body Fat Percentage: https://fitness.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Body-Fat-Navy
3. Calculate your TDEE: https://www.sailrabbit.com/bmr/
Remember to use bodyfat% and use Katch-McArdle Formula with sedentary settings or your TDEE will be too high.
4. Plan your weight loss: https://www.losertown.org/eats/cal.php
5. Track your nutrition with MyFitnessPal (better for packaged food), Cronometer (better for generic food/macros), LoseIt (great for both), or Waistline (FOSS).

>Now what?
Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per pound of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. Not lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.
Read the /fit/ sticky: https://liamrosen.com/fitness.html

>DON'T
Eat refined sugars, they're terrible for you regardless of calories.
Eat processed foods.
Drink your calories (alcohol, soda, Starbucks).
Freak out over a weight loss stall. Plateaus can last up to three weeks.
"Reward" yourself. Cheat days cheat only yourself.

reminder to test your Vitamin D even if you're supplementing it already

hunger associated with Vitamin D deficiency
>Appetite disturbances were significantly associated with increased odds of Vitamin D deficiency, even after controlling for depression and other confounders. However, due to the cross-sectional design, causality cannot be inferred. Prospective studies are needed to clarify this association's directionality and underlying mechanisms.

Vitamin D helping in weight loss
>After using vit D supplementation for 6 weeks, WT (weight), WC (waist circumference), and body mass index (BMI) were decreased significantly and serum vit D increased significantly compared to control group
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6071442/

us fatties having lower vitamin D
>High prevalence of vitamin D (VD) deficiency in obese subjects is a well-documented finding, most probably due to volumetric dilution into the greater volumes of fat, serum, liver, and muscle, even though other mechanisms could not completely be excluded, as they may contribute concurrently
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6780345/

all people need a very high dose of Vitamin D well above the current recommendation.
>Regardless, the very high estimate illustrates that the dose is well in excess of the current RDA of 600 IU per day and the tolerable upper intake of 4000 IU per day [1].

I've eaten a ton of these things but I've dropped them because I think those fags at Tyson changed the recipe to add goy syrup.
Swapped to bone-in skin-on chicken thighs. I eat two of them and two cups (cooked) of white rice, once a day, and that's all I eat
I went from 230-200 with this diet and now I wanna go from 200-170 or at least 180. Currently swinging wildly day-to-day from 192 to 198.

whats the consensus on rolled oats?
>>
>>77493551
Thighs are just a light olive oil rub with the first few spices I grabbed
Rice is 2 cups of cooked white rice with some spices and 1tbsp butter
I wish I was losing weight faster because I'm only eating a single time each day with no snacks, but it's probably miscalculating because I don't weigh my food on account of that being tedious and taking forever. I should really cut the rice down to 1.5 cups or replace it with vegetables but fuck, man, I'm only eating once a day with zero variety, I don't want to remove one of the few things about that that I enjoy.
I hate having to lose weight, bros. If I was richer I would take the lipopill

Don't eat any calories except for an adequate protein intake relative to your lean body mass, along with supplements and fibrous vegetables. After one week you will probably see an average of 0.3-0.5lbs of pure fat loss per day and you will be like me >>77493501, who has now Dunning-Kruger'd himself into believing he is master over the most aggressive and utilitarian fatloss diet plan he can figure.
>>
>>77493585
these things are goyslop but fuck if they're not delicious
conversely I hate chicken breast. It's like reverse pizza. When it's bad, it's bad. When it's good, it's still pretty bad. Maybe they're better if you cut them in half first before you bake them. I think those are cutlets?
>>
File: chicken breast.png (62 KB, 210x437)

>>77493601
If you can think cordon bleus are delicious then you are austere and hardy enough to survive on cat food and tree bark

There's no need to bake a chicken breast. Put a teaspoon of potassium chloride on it and then steam it. This accomplishes supplementing your potassium on a cut and seasons the chicken breast adequately. Steamed chicken breast is idiot proof and will not burn, get a rubbery skin texture, or be dry. You can also put frozen broccoli etc beside it and it cooks along with it.

>>77493599
yeah so if i just need some carbs to fuel my workout i can make them overnight style and it won't completely destroy my insulin receptors like fruit or other sugars

>>
>>77493663
Why did you let yourself get fat? I assume most people here grew up fat.
>>
>>77493622
If you're genuinely using it as exercise fuel then you want something quick to digest, because it will be immediately consumed as fuel without causing an insulin spike. This is especially true if you're eating it mid-run, but I'm guessing most people aren't doing that.
But regardless, they're still good for you. You should keep eating them, even if your reasoning is flawed.
>>
>>77493664
I grew up fat, got to 12%, now I'm at 20% again. I got a gf and got too cozy snacking with her during the "too hot to go running" season. I will never eat so much during summer again.

>>

>even if your reasoning is flawed.
NTA but exactly what the fuck is the point of smugging about the morass of the digestion speed of carbs or insulin whatever if we already know that gorillions of people eat oats as a carb source, or potatoes, or bananas, whatever, and it works proportionately to how much workouts suck without them unless you're some edge-case in deep ketosis or something like that?

>This is especially true if you're eating it mid-run
I think he's eating the overnight oats for breakfast. Idk why I might think that, possibly I reckon it's probably easier than weighing out a ratio of processed maltodextrin and fructose powder into the gym to swallow at the drinking fountain at a precise point in time. Are you retarded by any chance
>>
>>77493712
I love my watch, but I don't use it how I thought I would. I thought it would replace my handwritten notes for tracking gym workouts, but it's pretty useless at that. But I credit it for getting me into running, and it's really good for that. It also helped me fix a lot of problems with my sleep, and it's nice getting notifications on my wrist rather than my phone.

>>77493728
I'm not trying to sound smug, I'm just pointing out that eating carbs as part of your general diet and eating carbs specifically as exercise fuel aren't the same thing. I eat lollies during my long runs, but I avoid them at other times. You don't eat before/during exercise so that it "doesn't suck", you do it so that you don't deplete your glycogen stores and catabolise your muscles. Realistically, you don't need pre-exercise fuel at all if you're just lifting at the gym, but a small snack is reasonable if it's the first thing in the morning.
But you need to understand, when cardio guys talk about pre-exercise fuel we aren't talking about a giant bowl of oats. We're talking about something like a single banana. And that's really only for cardio where catabolism is a concern, not lifting.
>>
>>77493738
>I'm just pointing out that eating carbs as part of your general diet and eating carbs specifically as exercise fuel aren't the same thing
Okay in plain English then from whence does the perceived energy and actual performance boost in a workout after eating carbs normally come from if you're not specifically eating candy during the workout itself like how you do
>>
My mail lady had me sign for a package and complimented me on my weight loss today.
>>
>>77493745
It simply doesn't.
Again, if it's the first thing in the morning then I get it, or frankly even if you've been at a steep deficit for a while and barely have any glycogen stores left.
But if you do need quick energy for exercise, why would you want something with a low GI which won't even finish digesting by the time you leave the gym? The entire point here is to bypass your glycogen stores and use it directly as fuel. Otherwise it just doesn't matter what time of day you eat it.
>>
>>77493490

overnight oats will be eaten about an hour or so before the gym, not for breakfast. i just want to maintain a good level of overall carbs for the day and don't need rapid sugar spikes since i barely do any cardio, just lifting and a bit of an incline walk at the end

Are there early signs that you're going to get loose skin so you can stop losing weight right before it appears or is it a gamble? I lost 30 kg and I want to lose 15 more
>>
>>77494400
The signs are being obese.
That woman most likely was wingsofredemption levels obese to have that much loose skin. With your weight loss, yyours is probably very minor. And loose skin beats being fat so you should lose the weight and worry about that later.
>>
>>77493927
Unironically you might want to also try fasting. It helps heal up the immune system and reduces inflammation.
>>
>>77494400
Yes actually, you dont shrink you just deflate. You sag bit by bit. You can pinch your skin and pull it unnaturally far.
The good news is eventually it tightens up more the longer you keep the extra fat off, you can definitely help improve the skin by adding lean mass, and you're NOT going to have heaps of it unless you were fucking huge. Listed are the biggest factors
>how fat
>how long fat
>how FAST did you get fat
>skin quality
>skin care level
>age at time of weightloss
>>
>>77493985
Do you have body fat? If yes, you'll be fine.

I've dry fasted for 5 days and water fasted for 12 days in the past. Currently on a water fast right now at day 5. You can water fast with electrolytes for a very, very long time depending on how fat you are. You can see 40 day water fasts on youtube pretty regularly.

I'd also highly recommend it, it's like a reset switch for your hormones, I always crave better food after a fast rather than goyslop fast food.

I have slight gyno. Will losing bodyfat make it more or less pronounced
>>
>>77494509
Gonna add a few addendums to this. Don't be retarded when you break your fast and gorge yourself. Refeed slowly, start with something like bone broth, then I personally like avocados, greek yogurt, eggs, etc a while after. Don't go KFC and get a 12pc bucket and 10 biscuits like a troglodyte.

Fasting, to me, also functions like a muscle. You can do longer fasts off the bat, but I highly recommend you work up to it, it will far less miserable. Start with something like 16:8 IF, then OMAD, then try ADF, 2 days, 3 days, etc. Work up to it, it takes time for the body to adjust to metabolically switching like this if you've never done it before. You can even ease into a week before hand by going keto/lowcarb to make that metabolic switch far easier.

it really depends on how much gyno there actually is vs how much fat is being stored on your chest making it look like you have gyno or making it look worse than it actually is. If it's really bad then leaning out will actually make it more noticeable. If it's fairly minor then getting leaner will actually make it less noticeable. I thought my shit was going to look wack once I hit my goal weight but it turns out the majority of what I thought was gyno was just fat stored on my chest. I do have very mild gyno but it's borderline unnoticeable in most cases now that I'm lean. Really unless there's a way to measure how much breast tissue is there, the only way you'll really find out is just by losing the weight.

I didn't have an appetite yesterday and accidentally fasted and missed my daily protein requirement. I feel now like my stomach acid is trying to escape through making me throw up at the thought of food

Normies don't even have object permanence
The worst that can happen is you're seen and someone thinks "glad that isn't me"
Nobody talks to anyone. You will never be approached or spoken to. You're in an open-air prison in solitary confinement 23hr protective custody and you're just going past other inmates who have no business speaking to you and won't
>>
>>77494870
LOL no, normies have a distinct 'against the herd' detector, they will remember and they'll start trying to sabotage you.

Brazil comes 3rd place in this line up of countries. That's because all their food is just local interpretations of other national dishes, compared to Norway's variations on black bread and fish.

Also Japanese is probably the closest in characteristics to English cuisine.

You know you can eat at caloric maintenance and not be obese. And eating at more or less caloric maintenance every day is a normal diet. I know that mental illnesses compel irrational behavior but even you have to admit that

>>77495082
How many pounds to goal weight?

Are gummy supplements legit or a meme? Im trying to supplement my fiber and I've been taking it in powder form but it tastes nasty and feels like drinking cum. Im looking at these gummies that provide 5 grams of soluble fiber per serving.

>but what about le calories?
A serving of the powder is the same as a serving of the fiber gummies

>>
>>77495090
Just keep at it, assuming youre doing everything correctly. One week is too short of a time to panic over a plateau and making knee-jerk reaction changes.
>>
>>77495099
Yeah I know, I've been weighing and logging my food. I think I've got some stressors going on in my life that are making me retain water or something.
>>
>>77495085
Just eat nothing but a ton of fiber and adequate lean protein tomorrow and one other day during this week, go on one or two thirty minute zone II jogs, and you'll more than make up the difference without trying much.

Yeah it was an avoidable binge but 2500kcals is easily survivable. Some people can eat Michael Phelps level of calories in a single sitting. That's like 1/5th of a real despair inducing binge.

Fuck your fat life, that's why you're here and why you started to begin with. There was probably a time in your life where you didn't even care about calories and just ate stuff like that as an unquestioned daily habit. There are fatasses that live like this eating an entire dominos pizza daily with next to zero introspection and probably won't until they're in the hospital and they hear it from a doctor's mouth for the first time.

You WERE dying fat until something suddenly awoke you to that fact. Past tense. This relapse, now that it's over, is like a good reminder of what you were doing to yourself and what you were letting happen to your body. Cravings and rumination become more intense and harder to ignore the longer you abstain, for about 3-9 months if it's a settled habit. So more relapses are statistically inevitable. Start strategizing and planning ahead to meet them and stop them in their tracks, that's the only way you will mitigate incurring too many losses from enemy forces. They've won a battle into your territory, now surround them from all sides and slaughter them all before they advance any further.

I skipped lunch because i wanted a big spicy ramen bowl with cool ramen toppings.

I'm 77 lbs from my goal. I've never really lost weight before in my life, I was pretty thin until 25, when I got out of the Army and got hit with serious depression I ended up gaining over a hundred pounds in a couple years, and I've kept at 285 since then, about 6 years now. I want to get down to 200 and see how I feel. In the army I was at 170.
>>

I am also aiming for 200 right now, coming down from 424.

>For every 1 pound of fat lost, approximately 0.84 pounds (or roughly 13.4 ounces) of carbon dioxide is exhaled through the lungs.
>~2.86 million US patients were prescribed a GLP-1 RA between January 2019 and March 2026
>Average weight loss per user: clinical trials show ~15% body weight loss over 68 weeks, but real-world data is more modest — roughly 7–10% over a year.
>For a typical starting weight of ~250 lb, that's about 20–30 lb per user.
>So a reasonable ballpark is on the order of ~100 million pounds (≈50 million kg) of fat lost collectively.
>that would correspond to roughly ~84 million pounds of CO2 exhaled by semaglutide users combined

Terrible heart palpitations for two days now. Beat, beat, nothing... nothing... HARD BEAT, beat, nothing... nothing... nothing... HARD BEAT ect.
Damn, guess I waited too long to beat this demon. Oh well, good luck to the rest of you. Don't take your sweet time, you really don't have as much as you think you do.

Close to 500. Ate a big bowl of pasta with meat sauce the other day and it started a few hours after that and lasted until I went to sleep. Felt fine the next day so thought it was an anomaly.
Today I had a burger and shake for lunch and again a couple hours later it started again even worse and it still hasn't stopped.
I've felt random heart pains over the years but nothing this consistently abnormal. It's really shaken me up. Going to clean out my fridge tomorrow and make some radical changes. I can't go before my mom it would break her.

Get on some grey market reta. Cheaper than the food you wont be eating, or you can keep fucking around. Crypto on a wallet on your phone. Buy it, shoot it. Lose 1.5 lbs a week and train like a convict. I lost 60 down to 200lbs. Trained and tried for years. Fucking listen to me and stop jerking around. Do it. Thank me later.

you can eat a weenie for every meal too, two for dinner to help you sleep.
the only nutrients people are in danger of running out of on a lean diet are electrolytes.
so you can buy a couple pedialytes and have one every couple weeks.

a can of campbells beef and vegetable soup would make a good dinner too.
eggs, hot dogs, campbells soup, all good for slim meals.

>>77495355
If it works, it works for you so keep doing it but for the other guy, some baked chicken legs are going to start to smell bad in the fridge before he remembers it again from his mcdonalds
