is this true
>>77558927>powerlifting >massive loads of shits
>>77558927To a certain extent. Basically, this is just saying that powerlifters are more skilled at powerlifts because they actually train them. So someone in a lighter weight class might be able to out bench a bodybuilder who weighs more if that bodybuilder never trains bench. It's really not that crazy
>>77558927musclebros... we win again...
>>77558927>AI screencap thread.Didnt read. You dont lift>yeah I d--If you can't be bothered with the effort to look up a primary source or quote someone, and you're just going to go along the hype train of screenshotting AI output, I guarantee that you don't put in the effort to lift a single weight.
>>77558927Yeah people tend to get better at a certain lift the longer they do it.
>>77558931>more skilledI hate how people use this term in fitness. There's minimal skill to lifting. Powerlifters aren't getting stronger because their form is improving. You "learn" a lift once, and then spam it in whatever pattern is magically going to make you grow, but your learning is over. If you've deconstructed the term "skill" to mean "anything involving nerves and the brain adapting" then everything is a skill, but if you have any real skills day you had to train I think you'd also be peeved at the term being so loosened.
It is for weightlifting. I will never understand some chick hitting like 150kg in the clean and jerk
>>77559000You could easily be lifting for several months and not be doing more than 40% enough in terms of workload and technique. Probably more like 20% if you ever get injuries that stop you from lifting if you lift hard at all.
>>77560557I'm a professional musician but I can somewhat understand the "skill" comparison. A lot of what goes into becoming highly proficient as a musician is nothing more than developing motor skills, it's just that the ones involved in music are far harder to master than say the deadlift. But watching a novice flop around on a guitar or piano getting their fingers out of shape is not that different to watching someone deadlift in an uncoordinated fashion without recruiting the right muscles
>>77558927as someone who doesnt actually know i will say its bullshit. im sure strength gains are overwhelmingly from muscle fiber increase, even if thats not all that visible
>>77560611Yes its mostly neuromuscular recruitment. That is not the same thing as skill, to me.
In wintertime I get cramps everywhere, including abs, and hoo boy what a day and night difference flexing and going full retard muscle activation are.
>>>77560606>But watching a novice flop around on a guitar or piano getting their fingers out of shape is not that different to watching someone deadlift in an uncoordinated fashion without recruiting the right musclesI'm also a musician, which is why I disagree, even the muscle fibre units are different so there's a neurological distinction between the two
>>77558934>physical limitnot on my esoteric watch
>>77558927Can we add another rule besides "redpill me on X" that forbids retarded fucking AI summaries with OP asking "is this true"
