what's wrong with those niggers at google anyway, looking at their research paper they compare it to gemma 3 but never even mention 3n, which was superior to the regular 3 in all respects when it came to translation in all the language pairs I'm interested in
>>107876973because gemma 3n doesn't have large variants
I finally built one. It started as a character RNN but I switched to tokens. It's pretty lightweight given its main function is to do some admin task in a bigger program it's embedded in as well as act as a knowledge repository with some reasoning components. Creating and parsing the training data from scratch was tough but rewarding. Getting the right patterns down with appropriate tags increased training success triplefold. It's pretty addictive once the first one is done because it's super easy to make them modular and deployable which gives me a lot of ideas.
Do you guys still have hopes for the next big models? Obviously it will be trained on 80%+ synthetic dataset.
Is mistral large 123b any good? How does it compare to GLM and Minimax?

Does anyone make an Android tablet with the form factor of an iPad mini and proper stylus support cheaper than the Tab Active 5? That seems to be the only 8" one with a stylus

>>107873142>You have a low IQ if you don't care about how porn-addicted people represent themselves via BMP files hat they plaster on alternative custom firmwares for MP3 players.
In one of the wildest moves I've ever seen USPS has taken my package from a large city 160mi from me, to my city, and then back to the same large city 160mi away 3 days later.
God luddites are pathetic. If a machine can do it for you it's a waste of time two learn to do it your shelf.I don't even read or write anymore I use text to speech and voice recognition and I'm much more productive.Enjoy wasting you're time aha aha aha.
>>107877333why do you have a prominent lisp being transcribed by your dictation software?
I think lower elementary doesn't use calculators here. So they were right? Nice headline.
>>107877333then why go to school to learn anything?just use AI
>>107874103And? Our math teachers didn't let us use Calculators. I didn't get a calculator, and even then it was a basic bitch calculator, until Calculus. Those math teachers were 100% right and they also banned slide rules for the same reason.
Why aren't you using zswap?
Funny how my brain refuses to understand any of this, because it knows I have no use case for it.
>>107877418not exactly, zswap is compressed swap that is first stored in ram , and when the amount of compressed pages exceeds a defined limit, it is backed by actual swap, where as zram is not.
>>107877302What? Zram is just ram compressed by the OS. Most system configurations with zram (like fedora out of the box) use zram and swap.Compressing and decompressing memory adds overhead though. Compressing only stuff that lands on swap is zswap and is better if you have plenty of ram, and it improves SSD lifespan
>>107876382i don't need it
>>107877144>>107877246it's not enabled by default on debian either>>107877249https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Zswap>zswap is a kernel feature that provides a compressed RAM cache for swap pages. Pages which would otherwise be swapped out to disk are instead compressed and stored into a memory pool in RAM. Once the pool is full or the RAM is exhausted, the least recently used (LRU) page is decompressed and written to disk, as if it had not been intercepted. After the page has been decompressed into the swap cache, the compressed version in the pool can be freed.>The difference compared to zram is that zswap works in conjunction with a swap device while zram with swap created on top of it is a swap device in RAM that does not require a backing swap device. as far as i understand they do similar stuff until the compressed partition or whatever in ram runs out of space. then they differ. zram does some process killing or whatever, and zswap writes out to old school swap. it does actually do some swapping back and forth if the pages are hot i think. the usecase for zswap over zram is i believe when you routinely go well over your ram and into swap. i use it on this craptop because it has 4 gigs of ram and just loading gnome takes like 2 gigs of it. i routinely have a couple hundred megs at least in the swap

Anyone know anything about the Audio-Technica ATH-A990Z?
>>107877386yeah i own a pair of them, they are just your classic too much bass v shape headphone really. if that's your thing they can be great, but the headband is fucking horrific, the cups are aluminum so they weigh enough where they are constantly being pulled down on your head and at least for me felt like they were constantly about to fall off. Maybe if your the right person they could be the perfect semi cheap closed option, but don't buy them from someone that doesn't take returnsI bought them on a warehouse deal for $100 cad like 2 years ago and i think i used them for a week before storing them because i'm too lazy to sell themI don't think audio technica even sells replacement pads for them so your forced to deal with after market ones, over all your probably better off with dt 770s or something if you want a similiar headphonealthough one big upside is that they have a pretty wide soundstage for a closed back, probably because the drivers are quite large, so for fps games it's pretty nice
>>107877386are these wing headbands? worst thing AT has ever done, avoid those fuckers if you can
>>107877481>are these wing headbands? worst thing AT has ever done, avoid those fuckers if you canyep they are, i also have some r70x's and the wing shit has the added benefit, for me at least where it feels like they are falling off and skullfucking me at the same time, probably doesn't help the r70x pads are shit and the cups are way to small for anyone without small ears
Look who has just betrayed AI companies in America. So much for AI "winning the race" against China.https://x.com/i/status/2011035726851522725

>>107874258>You mean they actually expected the average joe to fund their pipe dream? They didn't expect you to do it willingly. Like how Windows 11 pushed Copilot into it, they expected every market and every company to simultaneously force their AI tools on all consumers and workers and thus have 100% integration by 2025. What ended up actually happening is the companies they fucked over from hoarding hardware ended up not being rich enough to do that, and consumers just want AI to jerk their wieners off, they have no other use for a shittier version of Google.
OLED is great
I'm the dude from this screenshot >>107870587Why are we still talking about this shit? After a few weeks it's still the same. I don't understand why kids take sides in stuff they never seen. >>107877357Oh well, just ordered the 16 Pro Max. Allegedly brand new, 12 months Apple warranty, 256GB Desert Titanium. Will get to "inspect & test" it in the courier office for any obvious physical damage, serial number, and then boot it up to test battery health, genuine parts, software/hardware functionality like cameras, speakers and microphone, etc.Let's hope for the best! Worst case scenario it doesn't match the description or has some easily noticeable flaws/malfunctions and I just pay the 10 euro goodgoy tax to ship it back to him as-is.
