You know Microsoft actually had a sloth of fans when I was in college. People actually talked about the Surface Book being a THING. Now its a fucking joke. Windows is slow as fuck and the specs on the surface are shit. I wish microsoft wasn't such a shit company. They're full corporate bullshit now. I wish google or apple or some other big ass company could produce a competitive and shitty locked down enterprise platform to put them out of their misery.

No, it can't. You didn't understand the feature a described.

It's not only "restore tabs"; any browser has this feature: It's restore tabs IMMEDIATELY. And the only way to truly be IMMEDIATE would be if the pages were hidden in the browser cache for some period of time before they were actually discarded – in case the user accidentally close that tab.

If you are browsing a lightweight page, like a plain text page, it might not be that much of a problem/noticeable to restore the tab and just download it again, because it will reload pretty fast; it's plain text. Now, if you are on a tab with a video and you close it, and then you press Ctrl+Shift+T, it won't be immediate.

Claude is good at traversing changes to existing code. If it tries to write new code it is abusmally retarded. My favorite was having it write a try / catch block with an empty catch for a function that already caught and suppressed errors and left a comment about how the function in the try already did that.

Most people who decide to use the GPL will simply go for GPL v3 because it's newer. Linus Torvalds has criticized GPLv3 several times, especially about the Tivoization clause, but he doesn't care about freedom so maybe we shouldn't care what he thinks about licenses.

None of us wants devices where we can't install our choice of software on it, so the GPLv3 does actually make sense, though I still have to ask - which of the two licenses are better, and why?

tmk for most lay people the GPL3 is just like GPL2, except torrent downloads are forbidden for binaries because they distribute them without code, and cloud hosted GPL3 software has limits because the FSF never saw those threats back then.

Other then that its a simple contract saying credit the previous author(s) and provide the code if the binaries are released. 99% of developers only only care about two things, only technical autist will pay attention to anything beyond that. I know GPL2 and GPL3 both say when binaries are released code that directly interacts with GPL2-3 code it must also be open source, but I think the GPL1 is the only one with a noticable difference that says all code in the entire program must be open sourced even if a tiny gpl library is used.

The point is 99% of users can't even tell the difference between GPL and MPL and aren't going to enforce it unless they don't have the code.

https://whisperpair.eu/vulnerable-devices

>WhisperPair enables attackers to forcibly pair a vulnerable Fast Pair accessory (e.g., wireless headphones or earbuds) with an attacker-controlled device (e.g., a laptop) without user consent. This gives an attacker complete control over the accessory, allowing them to play audio at high volumes or record conversations using the microphone. This attack succeeds within seconds (a median of 10 seconds) at realistic ranges (tested up to 14 metres) and does not require physical access to the vulnerable device.

>>
>>107886204
Yeah, I've basically stopped using Bluetooth headphones since I get constant connection issues from either Bluetooth being unreliable shit tech or someone really bored messing with my shit. Just got some high quality IEMs with a nice DAP and I'm blown away how good the sound quality is with this setup. Also, no creepy tracking of the things I listen to, like on Android based devices. Going back to wired tech feels a bit retro but the audio-quality gain alone is worth going back, imho.

If they would just use a <video> element I'm sure it would run way more efficiently, but then they can't apply all the styling and customization they want, and it's also trivial to download the video.

If you were born in 2000, you were 10 when Steve Jobs published "Thoughts on Flash". If you got on the internet around the age of 5, you'd have had 5 years of experience using Flash.
>>
>>107881130
SVG can be interactive and include Javascript.
The main problem is the missing IDE / studio.
>>
>>107887435
The html5 video element alone can not support the features YouTube wants. Dynamic adaptive streaming needs JavaScript, and of course ads need it, also I don't believe live streaming works without JavaScript.
>>
>>107884930
> was actually dogshit
Flash took a lot of heat because it was the platform on which ads were implemented, also YouTube's shitty player placed further unfair blame onto flash. Every other website besides YouTube had perfectly working video players implemented in flash. Also, however bad things were with flash, the modern web with html/JavaScript based ads are a million times worse.

It isn’t a bad browser. It’s got the best version of native vertical tabs of any browser I’ve used.
Although I wouldn’t agree that all browsers are spyware. There are plenty of Chromium and Firefox forks that remove telemetry.
They also have liked to remove genuinely good features like the sidebar and collections, so watch out for that.
