do you enforce some sane default max fps limit in your engines or do you just let it yolo at 100% core use? I think Love2D does 500hz, but I think I'll go with something like 200 (by default).
>>
>>107733827
Dude just spend a bit understanding quaternions and it won't be bad.
You're comfy with euler angles, right? Well, a quaternion is just choosing some arbitrary axis ("imaginary component") to rotate around, instead of XYZ.The scalar component gives you the angle of rotation about that axis.
TL;DR it's just AngleAxis shit, don't worry bro. You got this.
>>
>>107733827
it's same shit as everything else - get some ready formulas, multiply crap together, and rotations happen. nothing to it.

My friends and I do karaoke with some stem splitting service. It works fine, but we have issues timing the songs. Does anyone know a service that can take the vocal stem and turn it into a follow along track? The lyrics don't have to be right, it just needs to cue us in at the right times.

bumperinos, I want to do exactly this but with audiobooks so I can read while listening
>>
I'm only bringing this up since it's been 16 hours without a reply, if you run a song through whisper.cpp with the --max-len 1 argument and then mux the subtitle file into the karaoke version, with a blank video if needed, you'll get something that will at least be pretty close for the beginnings of words. Command might be something like ffmpeg -loop 1 -i blackbackground.jpg -i karaoke.mp3 -i whisper.srt -c copy out.mkv
I also found https://github.com/nomadkaraoke/karaoke-gen but just from looking over the readme I'm not sure if it actually does that part you need.
>>
>>107749220
Thank you, I'll check there
>>107752802
I'll look into this, it seems so strange that there's not even a crappy "timed voice to text" program out there.
>>
>>107746796
I would recommend using a service like karafun, I think you can do lyrics and timing for custom songs with it. I haven't used it but it's a very good service.

Otherwise you might have to use some custom open source thing out there.

In gentoo, ebuilds are just packages you compile from source.
I'm not enough of a developer to be certain, but in some similar bug reports it was suggested that if you updated llvm (to whatever abi change was made) after the maintainers compiled a binary that depends on it, the package manager couldn't detect that a rebuild was needed and you'd get hinky results.
>>
>>107754405
LLVM ABI breakage can be a pita. The different versions are mostly compatible but then they will change something and that can cause 90% of things to still work fine but then subtle breakage in one thing or another.
>>
>>107754234
It supports HDR and I don't care if there's an FPS hit to achieve that. I value quality over rendering a bazillion frames per second with occasional tearing.

That all "makes sense" to a decent enough relative degree.

Hey /fglt/
Have a bunch of dumb questions
1. In Plasma, is there a way to make window rules accessible from the context menu on each task on the taskbar (the same section where you find the option to move/resize/remove window frame/fullscreen)? This seems only accessible from the drop down menu you can open when clicking the titlebar program icon > More actions
2. Is it normal to get less input lag with gamescope on top of Plasma Wayland than through Wine on Wayland?
3. Is there a way to mitigate high framerate fluctuations? For whatever reason, VRR brightness flickering is more aggressive over linux than windows, I'm not sure if it's something to do with the power profile on my GPU

the shitty artists are needed to allow the 80-20 rule to push up the absolute numbers in the higher end of the "bell curve", as shown with japshit. competition is always good.

Typically I just search documentation when I want to do things and read it then assemble things together. I work mostly in Swift, but do occasional Rust and Ruby. I tried to use to create Ruby CLIs to automate workflows but it just generated a ton of trash code.

>social norms can change
Faggot, these changes are the result of manufactured cultural hegemony. They change because a small network of people who reached key positions pushes it. See Rudi Dutschke's 'Long march through the Institutions'. Trannies are the biggest power flex ever. We live in a decentralized totalitarianism in which it doesn't matter what X is. Power decides what it is.

I honestly feel a deep pity for trannies. They're mostly just buckbroken by the current insane system. They could have been bros, they could have known an authentic life. Maybe they could have even known love. Instead they'll just live their life as a caricature and spread disgust around them.

Three 24" monitors or one huge monitor for programming?

one big for programing 32 inches is fine, i use it with a tiling window manger and switching desktops shortcuts, i don't turn my head not even milliliter full focus
>>
>>107753958
If you are running at 200% scaling, everything is 4x bigger. If you have 2 24" monitors, one at 4k 200% and one at 1080% 100% scaling, everything will be identical in terms of size, which is what I mean by effective resolution. If you had a 48" 4k monitor at 100% scaling, you would have 4 times the screen real estate, or effective resolution, compared with either the 1080p panel or the 24" 4k one. 3 of those tiny 4k monitors would fit less actual content than a single proper 4k one, 4 of them would fit an equal amount of content.

Seizing the opportunity to fuck over foreign competitors isn't altruistic.
China is the main market of course, but if they can catch west-aligned companies with their pants down on the side, why not? China gets more profit, brownie points with the general public, and more global influence alongside it.
>>
>>107754040
you're right, they don't give a single fuck about your markets.
all they care about is cutting costs for their own population to remain competitive within their own markets, and because lower cost intermediates make lower cost end products. it's only a fluke that amongst them someone gets the bright idea of "what if we sold to the gweilos too instead of just to ourselves?" and didn't think much about marking up the price to fit western sensibilities (let alone marketing.)
