Looking for audiophile headphones of start to mid tier or good buck fr bang at around 200-600 dolla. Wired or Bluetooth.

The thing is, I love to listen while I sleep and I sleep sideways so I would really appreciate headphones that feel comfy when squeezed against your ear and the pillow (if any).

My previous ones from 2013-14 were my audio technica ath m50x, they are great - still using them. The wired got a damaged after years but I just replaced it, as they are replaceable.
/g/ used to shill them back in the day, they proved their worth, sound quality is superb.

I'd just like maybe something wireless that feels comfy side-sleeping.

Here before the astroturfers arrive

Don't get anything beyerdynamic. Cheap ass plastic quality, terrible flat sound, earmuffs that require replacement every 6 months due to the material they use

Xm4 is better
No hissing in wired mode, less bass bloaty than xm5 while still having the healthy bass boost
Xm6 is the worst, only thing it does better is support lower latency, its anc even has a faint whistles in the right speaker(you have to focus to hear it, it's probably like 10db but def a regression from xm4 and xm5) and the sound is just not as good as xm4's despite costing over 2x as much
Also xm4 still has the better low frequency ANC ability, somehow

There's multiple ways. First is this from the website; you paste this into the terminal and you are done:
sudo dnf install dnf-plugins-core

sudo dnf config-manager addrepo --from-repofile=https://brave-browser-rpm-release.s3.brave.com/brave-browser.repo

sudo dnf install brave-browser

The second way is you download the Brave Flatpak from your preferred app store. I believe there may also be an .rpm installers you can download from the GitHub, but don't quote me on that.

Thanks for the advice. Any considerations for running any of these on the same drive? As far as I've researched, all you have to do is partition out the drive for each and it all should be fine. I don't plan on updating my windows install ever so I don't think I will have problems with the boot managers fighting each other.

>what specifically is broken
Mainly cursor warping, that's a feature that Wayland doesn't care to implement, but also window positioning apparently:
https://www.kicad.org/blog/2025/06/KiCad-and-Wayland-Support/
Personally I run a relatively small 4K monitor set to 250% Scale in System Settings (also KDE and Wayland for the moment), and I frequently get issues with KiCAD and its cursor positioning (cursor appears to be in X position, is actually in Y position). Anything 200% or above causes this problem. When I put stock Fedora and its Gnome spin onto a flash drive and tested KiCAD, I got the same issue both times. Going to the flatpak fixed this for the most part, but I still have issues zooming to an undesired coordinate, and the render resolution is diminished with no openGL instance found. I'm not certain all of my problems are caused by Wayland not playing ball, but at the very least if I can remove it from the equation their support staff might actually pay attention to me. They also said "arch can be weird" so that's also a variable I'd like to be rid of by going to something closer to Ubuntu, Debian, or Fedora.

If you have a few minutes, set your monitor's scale to over 200% and see if you get any problems.
>>
>>107737433
Why would you intentionally buy hardware that needs anything but 100 or 200% scaling?
>>
>>107737573
If they have some 13" laptop I can see that (great little portable machines but always a nightmare with their displays).
They said monitor though. I agree with you. I don't know why you'd intentionally buy such a small 4K monitor like that. Must have been a mistake.

I just bought a 32Gib 512nvme i7-9850H quadro t1000 with a 4k panel for $400 on eBay (and uncle sam fucked me for 40 in taxes and 20 in shipping)--and I am regretting it and wish I bought the cheaper $330 1080p 48gib option but bought this one because I thought that the 4k panel might be good since 1080p is a bit bad for split screen latex but am now regretting it since it will
- Drain battery faster (might take up 20% extra)
- Be a pain to use because I will be forced to set it to 200% scaling for a good experience with my external 1080p monitors (probably, I have never used 4k but xorg will likely strangle me too)
- Cost more
- Doesn't have as much ram
- At 15.6" and normal sitting, I probably won't ever notice

I don't think it has been shipped yet but also don't want to try to return it since that might make me an asshole...I will have to go check if the seller even accepts returns...

I am really crying over this...why is life so hard?

It isn't that old, can support up to 128GiB ram, has lots of ports, has a good keyboard/trackpoint (with the buttons that later models removed), and is still fairly decent performance at an okay price.

I'm 100% serious. The reason my message came off as a joke to you is because you've always had these ideas repeated and validated by others through your life. But there's a part of you that knows they're bullshitting. Repeating shit they're supposed to say, shit they don't really believe in at a gut level. Which is why you're scared of telling others about these ideas in real life.

I don't believe in the "male brain" and "female brain" thing. I believe both are mostly the same. The difference are parametric. Shaped by culture, shaped by hormones right from the uterus. Yes, the extremes often met. The most feminine brained man might be more feminine brained than the most masculine brained woman. But that does not make the man a woman or the woman a man. That just means you were exposed to lower levels of testosterone than most men, the receptors had problem binding with the molecules for one reason or another, you just had genes that made it that way, or whatever biological thing actually happened.

I don't believe in the distinction between gender and sex. That is just a modern distinction made for ideological reasons. Your gender is just whatever your body looks like naturally and what your genes show.

This is my opinion. You may disagree and that's ok. We can agree to disagree.

I'm also discussing your situation with an AI, BTW (Claude Opus 4.5). I hope you don't mind.

Do you mean online? I have only ever posted about me being trans on 4Chan and usually get reposes like yours. But I supposed I have read on Reddit too and it is often more welcoming for those things. The statistics and research certainly confirms that being trans and denying it is bad for one's mental health.

>Which is why you're scared of telling others about these ideas in real life.
I am not fully closeted if that is what you mean? Merely closeted to the vast majority of people since their opinions are typically irrelevant.

>I don't believe in the "male brain" and "female brain" thing. I believe both are mostly the same
Then what is it that you feel is "shaped by hormones right from the uterus" if not the brain? I fear I am misunderstanding what it is you mean. This is also as you state, a believe--is there any reason you have this belief?

>I don't believe in the distinction between gender and sex. That is just a modern distinction made for ideological reasons. Your gender is just whatever your body looks like naturally and what your genes show.
I merely used them for the sake of clarity in the example because sex defined as biological and gender as more so a "classification".

>This is my opinion. You may disagree and that's ok. We can agree to disagree.
This is a rare occasion on 4Chan... Ignoring biology because that is still being debated, although even old cases tend to side with it being partly responsible for transness (like that famous one from the 50/50s? I can't remember its name...), what is your opinion on stoicism being permissive and even leaning towards promoting being trans if one feels that it is best for them?

And I am still interested in my asking for your definition of what a woman really is?

>I'm also discussing your situation with an AI, BTW (Claude Opus 4.5). I hope you don't mind.
Cool! How did you get it to talk like that? I haven't ever used Claude but most AIs are politically "correct" to the extreme of saying misgendering someone is worse than killing an entire country of people. It also just talks about suicide without infantilizing the topic (yet still over-dramatizing)--how did you do that? Most companies try to prevent that for legal reasons.

Also from the screenshot, do you start posting on this thread before >>107737101?

Finally, this is purely out of interest, what country do you live in, what is your sex, and do you accept trans people irl? I just want to know because different cultures can affect one's thinking greatly.

Clojure guy likes it to a degree that he is smug about it, and thinks other people are making brittle, easy-to-fail software.
For everyone else who uses dynamic typing, it's purely a historical accident: really shitty static typing ruled the world for a period that also saw CPUs doubling in speed every year, and was poor competition for dynamic typing which now does not offer anything, not even ergonomics or developer ease, but which still haunts the languages that went with it.
