What's so special about Arch? Why does it get memed on so hard? People say it has bleeding edge packages but why is that so important? Is it better for gaming or something? What makes it different from Mint?

The number of packages is misleading when comparing between distros. Many distros split one package into multiple packages, for example one package for the command line tool and one package for the library, one package for the documentation and different packages for different variants of the package. On arch each package usually contains everything the software provides. Some distros also contain a lot of old software that nobody uses while not providing new software that many people want to use. That's why even though debian may have more packages than arch by raw numbers, it actually has less software available.
>>
>>107724765
Last time I checked, they didn't have stellarium, bretty common program you can find even in small distros like void.

What is it about big O notation that is so hard to understand for people?
Despite being a fundamental concept in CS, so many CS graduates think they understand what big O means, but when they try to explain it they are completely wrong.
For example pic related, almost every statement in the "explanation" is incorrect.

>>107724797
It's not a joke. Everything I've said is correct and my points are valid.
>>
>>107724842
It's not a troll though. And the fact that array lookup is O(n!) is not just a random useless fact to impress people, such facts are regularly used in analyzing the asymptotic performance of algorithms.
>>107724837
No, he is wrong. He is asserting that accessing an array is not O(n!), which is incorrect.
>>
>>107724579
>f(n) = 1000 - 1000/(n+1) is O(1)
Yes, but if you could read you would see that that's not what were talking about. Anon described a hypothetical function whose runtime is specified by that given function. We aren't discussing the complexity of the given function itself.

Why do people still buy Nvidia gpus even though they are now lagging behind AMD?
>>
>>107724545
Ray tracing and DLSS.

AMD only beats Nvidia in raw rasterization. Which has basically been made obsolete with modern technologies

>Hurr durr fake frames
All frames are fake.
>>
>>107724545
Friend bought a 9070XT, 90% of the games he plays look worse simply because of FSR *3, FSR 4 doesn't exist because AMD is retarded, even if it did exist developers just simply do not care about AMD it seems.
Also cherrypicking a screenshot like that does no favor of either, you're better of with a 5070 than a 9070XT, even, losing 20 FPS while gaining actual support and optimization and regaining what you lose with the 9070XT.
There is simply no point in AMD as nobody cares about them, even AMD themselves don't care about AMD.
>inb4 play native
You can't, modern games are made in mind for DLSS/FSR, DLSS simply wins, some games don't even offer native, just TAA which looks worse than DLSS/DLAA.
Also not everyone plays 1080p, we are literally going into 2026, step up, people are moving to 1440p, and 5070 is still a better choice despite the 12GB VRAM.

This is true of all electric vehicles. The proprietary batteries can't be replaced, and after an accident the battery is considered compromised, so the entire vehicle is considered totaled. People looking to resell their old electric cars are finding out no one will buy them because of this.

2 more kernels then i'm done with embeddings for now
there's 4 modules that use attention, more involved to convert so i've marked as notimplemented and i'll look at them later, they are all used in uncommon models anyway so it's not priority
i think down/upsampling modules and resnet will already be complete, maybe some new normalization modules and i'll check for kernel opportunities in those, there's at least one because it's used in T5 as well and i already added that
then i can start smashing through all the actual models

yeah, chatgpt is good at these simple kernels, i give it context with an example kernel, backend codegen stuff, ir operator and test, then give it the pytorch reference code and it gives me the full implementation, i'm using 5.2, the instant mode sucks though, needs thinking mode, i have to fix a few things in the backend/ir for dynamic shape, and sometimes fix the test a bit, but generally pretty good
but for anything complex like the dynamic workspace allocation i have to do it myself
