What's so special about Arch? Why does it get memed on so hard? People say it has bleeding edge packages but why is that so important? Is it better for gaming or something? What makes it different from Mint?

The number of packages is misleading when comparing between distros. Many distros split one package into multiple packages, for example one package for the command line tool and one package for the library, one package for the documentation and different packages for different variants of the package. On arch each package usually contains everything the software provides. Some distros also contain a lot of old software that nobody uses while not providing new software that many people want to use. That's why even though debian may have more packages than arch by raw numbers, it actually has less software available.

I personally believe you can make your system look good without the need for rounded corners and excessive padding and blur, however when you take a look at modern setups (either at reddit, discord or even here) you see the same cookie cutter stuff, nobody is trying new or different things anymore. This is why when it comes to sharing your desktop online you see the same thing over and over again, because people now prioritize what will give them the most updoots, rather than what will actually improve their workflows or freedom. You can replicate any of those Hyprland setups you see online right within KDE or even Openbox, but that isn't as cool as the former so people avoid it. People move over to Linux and install Hyprland, i3 or [insert meme wm here] because a random eceleb told them to, not because they're interested in the technology or design behind it.

Anon I... there is no such thing as a pure anime model, that idea is pure cope. The best you get are checkpoints that can gen out anime looking stuff because they were hammered with absurd amounts of finetuning until they learned to reproduce specific characters and styles.
At the end of the day it is all diffusion soup under the hood.
>>
>>107724662
Anime models? There's only one: pure unmixed illustrious 0.1. Everything else (at the minimum) contains some furshit. And who knows what else.

Why do people still buy Nvidia gpus even though they are now lagging behind AMD?
>>
>>107724545
Ray tracing and DLSS.

AMD only beats Nvidia in raw rasterization. Which has basically been made obsolete with modern technologies

>Hurr durr fake frames
All frames are fake.
>>
>>107724545
Friend bought a 9070XT, 90% of the games he plays look worse simply because of FSR *3, FSR 4 doesn't exist because AMD is retarded, even if it did exist developers just simply do not care about AMD it seems.
Also cherrypicking a screenshot like that does no favor of either, you're better of with a 5070 than a 9070XT, even, losing 20 FPS while gaining actual support and optimization and regaining what you lose with the 9070XT.
There is simply no point in AMD as nobody cares about them, even AMD themselves don't care about AMD.
>inb4 play native
You can't, modern games are made in mind for DLSS/FSR, DLSS simply wins, some games don't even offer native, just TAA which looks worse than DLSS/DLAA.
Also not everyone plays 1080p, we are literally going into 2026, step up, people are moving to 1440p, and 5070 is still a better choice despite the 12GB VRAM.

Anyone serious about developing it ends up forking it or moving to another browser because their devs are so toxic. They yeeted XP support which was the only thing they had going for them. Their browser also ran like shit before html5 and troon invasion of videcoding

During the install you can setup pkgin and pkgsrc, I would recommend taking a look at the example install on the NetBSD website, https://netbsd.org/docs/guide/en/chap-exinst.html.
>How do their two FFS implementations differ, what makes NetBSD better in your view?
These are related for me, I lost an OpenBSD install and all of the data on this same laptop due to a power failure.
>>107722978
I usually use a hotkey, but I had the terminal open anyway so I just used the command.

>These are related for me, I lost an OpenBSD install and all of the data on this same laptop due to a power failure.
I fucked up an openbsd machine to the point that the thing wouldn't boot .... but I was able to mount the fs with an installer disk and get critical data off
>>
>>107723658
How source-based is your system? I was wondering if pkgsrc would be like Portage with less headaches
