HP, Intel and Microsoft collaborated on switching banks over to Windows NT on Itanium. HP would kill off their bigger iron stuff like HPPA and DEC Alpha they got with Compaq.
Banks asked them if they had a death wish. The three had to port OpenVMS to Itanium.

Why? The design is interesting, the problem was the compiler writers. They were never able to deliver what they promised and thus only a single instruction slot was filled in the compiled code. No wonder it ran like treacle.

Also: you can probably reset the firmware of the controller by pressing 'home' button when plugging it in or something but this can vary.
8bit do controllers have this feature for example.
>>
>>107744708
It's Onn, the generic walmart brand.
Hmm.. holding the home button while plugging it in put it into some kind of state. The power light just stayed blinking and it wasn't vibrating, but it's not being picked up at all is lsusb.

Okay, me again. I went ahead and created /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-hid-nintendo with "blacklist hid_nintendo"
rebooted, manually loaded xpad
plugged controller in, it attempted to handshake with nintendo, failed, and connected as hid-generic, then immediately fell back to xbox 360.
So, it's working now. The solution was blacklisting hid_nintendo since that seems to be how it's trying to connect.

How do I know for sure if my psu is defective ?

My computer seem to crash and reboot randomly. No logs, no blue screen.
The display goes black for few seconds then reboot.

I did multiple stress tests of various components to figure out which could be the source but with no success.
The crashes seem to happen completely randomly, sometimes when I’m barely using my computer, other while playing video games.

There is no consistency
>>
>>107745815
I would suspect voltage regulators on the motherboard. Look carefully if you find any odd looking regulators or capacitors, sometimes you can't tell by looking though unfortunately.

idk the model numbers by heart, but basically, when ordering custom chips, sometimes they'll be somewhat defective but mostly okay (Like an 8-core CPU where only 6 cores work), so the CPU maker will sell it to someone else, typically for use in server clusters, at a smaller price.
I know there's a board like that for the PS5's APU, but I'm sure you can get the same thing for Xbox and Steam Deck (I think NVidia also sells cut down Tegras in Jetson units)

Excluding playing video games on them WTF where computers in the 70s and 80s used for?

Like serious question.

The capacity of them was laughable the 8-inch Floppy disk is ~242KB

>Diskettes formatted for this system stored 242,944 bytes

1 Wikipedia article page saved as ASCII text takes up 25KB at the lowest.

So 10 pages would fill that one up of pure ASCII text.

You can not store books on them.

I have the opposite problem, everyone keeps saying new drivers aren't working on 11 enterprise anymore. Makes me anxious as I debate myself while waiting on a new GPU to finish build on whether to go Win 11 Pro and do massive debloat or go Enterprise and risk getting fucked by drivers refusing to install except on consumer versions for some shit reason.

Then again all I've seen for first hand experience here is someone trying to install Dell (monitor?) drivers lol, which wouldn't be shocked is due to subvendor (Dell) incompetence. Plus can't do you just force them through another driver injector or the like?

This reminds me of something I read happened a few weeks ago. There was a tranny who was mad at the mod of a german imageboard because his posts promoting lgbt were often removed, so he spammed that board with 7000 CP files that he reported himself straightaway to the web hoster and cloudflare. The bastard successfully got the site inaccessible. But then that retard bragged about it, admitting that he had uploaded these files and reported them himself, and so indirectly that he was in possession of these files. In order to report them to cloudflare he probably revealed his IP in the process, so let's hope he gets what he deserves.

Not him. But there are postings of cheap 4x2gb 1066mhz ddr2 here. I think they're from China, but they probably works.

But no one is selling DDR2 systems. Just spare parts. Not even bundles. Trying a make a CPU, Motherboard, and RAM from multiple sources work is very risky.

This is true but sometimes you don't want to do that. Sometimes you make a post, in a fast thread for example, which has not much meaning and is irrelevant. You know as you post it that you wont go back to it to check for yous or enter a discussion. But your preferred settings bookmark everything by default. So, instead of having to seep through your post history and bookmarks to delete all your shitposts/spam you just do it on the spot. By unmarking the post. Thus you keep lists clean with stuff you actually want to follow up on later and avoid them getting too full beforehand. Capiche?

I edited the raw formatting and it just went straight back to thinking, so I'm assuming it's trained into it. I could've swapped to another frontend to see if the result was the same but then it'd require more effort setting up the same prompt and formatting to make sure. I dunno man.
>>107746109I guess that makes sense since I know nothing about api model behaviors. Still retarded. They should be focusing more on curating quality content and not "quality" as per retard tech monkeys, but people who read or write fiction now that code is plateauing
>>107746163
Benchmarks get fudged, honest ones are within points of one another, none of the actual practical uses get any attention. Eventually it will be considered a dead end since they can't provably do better, unless they start looking back and focusing on the whole initial point of the models. At least context length is fairly better now.

Kek, can totally imagine his shellshock if he were to ever work in the trenches of multi-decade old codebases powering innumerable businesses today.
He'd have a nervous breakdown when he first encounters two processes that are in logical conflict with each another but because of some stupid 3rd process it works out 95% of the time (with the other 5% cases handled manually as they arise) and source control is littered with commits and subsequent reverts of rookies trying quick fixes to clean up the situation... yeah a week max.

>multi-decade old codebases powering innumerable businesses today
I work on a server-side application from the 90's which uses all major Java build systems at the same time, looks as if it tried to implement 3 distinct architectural styles and whose test suite takes at least 7 hours to run on a good day. I don't see a point in hating Jonathan just because he talks shit and enjoys better working conditions.
