That is the understatement of the century. A significant amount of people were still using XP by the time W7 was released and not the x64 version either.

is there any point to messing around with my shell beyond just installing and switching to fish?
36 replies and 4 images omitted. Click here to view.

>>107745334
Your .zshrc runs in it's entirety before the first prompt of a new shell. Every plugin you haven't personally read and don't understand could be malware. Plugins shouldn't really change much. They aren't exactly meant to be feature-complete applications. It's totally worth the extra inconvenience of installing them, manually.

yeah, thats pretty much it. the fundamental idea of int.fasting is the periods of fasting induce a ketosis state. when you're exposed to sugars or carbos, the body immediately switches off from ketosis. just make sure your cream doesnt have sugars or carbs

>>107745347
>keeping track of that is actually far more complex than most people realize,
yeah, I can't be bothered. I ballpark (at best) but honestly know what stuff I should or shouldnt be eating. on the flip side, imagine how many brain calories you're burning by solving for 5-dimensional caloric matrices, lol

You don't own a prostitute, no more than the guy two hours ago did, or the next guy two hours from now.
Now let me suggest a compromise: It doesn't need to be any different than your PC. You can build it from parts or buy it pre-assembled. But what you put on it is up to the user. You wanna use the paid cuck corpo software? Knock yourself out. Me, i'm gonna install a local model.

Don't buy anything OTHER THAN IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T, X, and W/P Series if you want the Real Business Experience™
>Other business laptops are welcome in /tpg/ (Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook)

Why ThinkPad?
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap
>Excellent keyboards, tactile feel and quiet + the TrackPoint
>Great durability: magnesium roll cage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop
>Easy to repair (most models), upgrade & maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model, spare parts easy & cheap to obtain
>Excellent Linux & *BSD support

Out of curiosity, what's the oldest ThinkPad that would be able to run games like Half-Life 2 and CS: Source? I'm not asking for too much, would mainly be playing at hopefully 1080p/60 on an external monitor. Probably the T series would be ideal.
>>
>>107745504
I've played HL2 on a T60p but it wasn't the best experience, and the cooling solution barely kept up. You need something with a discrete GPU. None of the iGPUs in and around that era are going to be sufficient.

i just bought this one

Excluding playing video games on them WTF where computers in the 70s and 80s used for?

Like serious question.

The capacity of them was laughable the 8-inch Floppy disk is ~242KB

>Diskettes formatted for this system stored 242,944 bytes

1 Wikipedia article page saved as ASCII text takes up 25KB at the lowest.

So 10 pages would fill that one up of pure ASCII text.

You can not store books on them.

>I wanted to mess around with fax without buying a fax machine.
>I do not care i want to do it
Then do it. Either search on the internet or write your own software that reads a black and white bitmap, then bursts out the data as tones and listens to it on the other end. People used fax machines and cards instead of sound card outputs because voltage difference between speaker output and what phone systems used, so your usecase is really niche.

>why don't we allow
There's no laws preventing the importing of Chinese GPUs nor "ram"
In fact most components already come from China as most are made in their sweatshops.

At the end of the day Chinese "superior" tech is a myth and no one wants to beta test GPUs that can't even run properly and have practically no driver support.
