The easiest source to find and compare today would be professional wrestling DVDs released in the era before HD. Then compare them to what is available on the Peacock archives.
The DVDs preserve the original 480i 60 fields per second temporal quality.
The Peacock version will be in 30 frames per second and although the image might be a little sharper, the loss of motion clarity makes it look less alive.

>the majority of them have been converted to 60 fps via adding fake frames rather than using an original source.
This. Same with old porn, it's always 30fps or ai upscaled and smoothed from 30fps instead of de-interlaced using 60i originals.

Please give a retarded proof guide of how to correctly ripping old media into digital storage in order to preserve its original quality
>>
>>107747035
Rip the raw 60i footage and keep it that way.
Use Yadif 2x de-interlacer in your video app to get 60p unique frames. Or use something like FFmpeg to make it permanent.

Though there might be AI options now that do this better, Topaz or something.
>>
>>107747035
The best preservation would be a digital interlaced video. These formats are currently obscure, but with wider adoption could see them having better support.

As far as capture cards go, I'd be wary of any of the cheap ones under $100. They probably perform some image processing on the hardware level that can't be worked around.

I purchased a game through humble bundle for the first time and i was wondering...
since all they do is give you an email with a link to download/torrent an installer, what exactly is stopping me from giving that link to... anybody? or copying the magnet link and uploading it to a warez site or something?
surely they have some protection in place but i just can't find anything about it
I don't even want to do anything shady i'm just curious how they can make this work?
>>
>>107746726
for the DRM free games? nothing is stopping you. the publishers afraid of that only give out DRM keys for steam, epic, origin, etc etc
>>
>>107746371
Sound isolation works by having multiple different surfaces, with each boundary dissipating some of the sound energy. As far as I know acoustic foam does very much isolate because all the subtrate-air barriers work to do this.
>the foam makes the sounds "sound" better in interior spaces by isolating them, and has basically nothing to do with the actual soundproofing to the outside.
This sentence sounds nonsensical to me. First of all "isolating sound" = soundproofing, so I have no idea what you mean by saying foam isolates spaces but has "nothing to do with soundproofing".
Secondly, the other anon is right, isolating from what? Acousting foam in interior spaces is meant to absorb sound, and reduce echoes that would otherwise bounce off the walls and interfere with things.

If there's bitrot then you wouldn't know until you opened the bitrotted file. Use a checksumming filesystem to avoid that.
>partition commands
Yeah if you're afraid of a fucked partition but the partitions look fine then you should be fine. Any sort of overwriting operation would have almost certainly started by overwriting your filesystem, not the actual file data, so if the files all look like they're still there (i.e. the filesystem metadata wasn't wiped) then it's basically certain that the files themselves are also fine.

It's called having an honour system.
All DRM can be cracked anyway unless you pay out of your ass for an enterprise denuvo license and annoy a ton of people who hate denuvo on principle. There's a reason only normieslop AAA games bother with denuvo.
Otherwise, pirates will pirate, and honest people will remain honest. Many small or indie devs just don't bother with DRM at all as a gesture of goodwill towards players, "look, I trust you guys to not just share it everywhere".

Personally I'm more likely to pirate a game if it has more DRM, and I will never ever pay for a game with denuvo for example.

It's similar to working with a VPS except your home internet being compromised could be worse. I prefer zerotier-cli so I don't have to open any ports, IPs should stick as well which helps if you have dynamic IP.

Yes, assuming you use strong algorithms and keys, and keep your software up to date.
>fail2ban
Good. You can also whitelist only the IP blocks you tend to connect from for additional security. For example, there is no need to even allow a foreign IP address to connect to port 22 if you never need to reach it from abroad.

Google's proprietary services are a massive threat towards privacy, because it's their business model. Security is top notch and the way apps are distributed through the play store is very secure. GrapheneOS never claims otherwise. It's on you to give apps certain permissions in the profiles you feel comfortable with. You are not required to install anything from google or use any app that has Google libraries built-in. They even recommend that for privacy and advice you to install apps directly from the developer through obtanium. Doesn't take anything away from f-droids security flaws though, which they rightly point out.
