Why do all "platforms" make recaps at the end of the year?
>>107669205i recap all the sex i've had with your mom at the end of the year.
Spotify started doing it and everyone just copied them like sheep.I got a fucking mcdonalds recap, what the fuck is their fucking problem, I don't want to be reminded I went to mcdicks 14 separate times in 2025.
Switching to Linux for gaming seems to be the popular thing these days and Steam is the choice for it. Whereas on Windows using GOG I can actually own my game and keep a copy of it, I'm not leasing it if the platform decides to just take shit back. Windows has better software support and freedom.
>>107668906>EULAlollmao, even
US digital copyright law is pure jewry that ignores 2000+ years of human history in regards to ownership. The only reason they can get away with it is because people allow it and the US is no longer a free society, its glownigger jew controlled. They cant do this with food, cars or physical items in the same way because people would literally rebel and go fucking ape shit.Though they already try this still with seed patents and taxes for land/houses in the US, but the jewry can only go so far before the goyim notice.
>>107668883Not really, steam input fixes ecactly that and many controller rebinding/macro tools are inspired by it. The Steam Deck and the upcoming steam controller in combination with steam input are for games without controller support at all.
>>107668510my guy all you do is get the same games and run them as non-Steam installations through Steam for the same ease-of-Proton. if there's something Steam-specific you're SoL regardless. it's impossible not to realize this within 5sec of writing your OP.
>>107668510>Whereas on Windows using GOG I can actually own my game and keep a copy oweird thread, since you can do the same thing on linux with gog
Thoughts on the elitebook?
>>107665689Pics or it didn't happen. I mean you having a wife.
>>107660876I like them and alternate between them and Thinkpads. I just buy whichever has the better specs for the money. Really the only advantage is that they have 2 dimm slots instead of 1 dimm slot and soldered ram. HPs are called Hinge Problems for a reason. Zbooks are a better buy than Elitebooks and Probooks because the GPU models are more common and cheaper in comparison to T15s and X1s. I haven't bought a Dell laptop ever since they made the XPS shit but I might try a Precision at some point.
>>107660876If you have to get something that isn't a Dell Latitude, its probably the runner-up that's the fewest light years behind.

Some femboy anon posted a thread here last night talking about how tired he was of using windows 11 and linux mint wasnt working for him so he ended up swapping to windows 7.I didn't get to ask all the questions I wanted cause he disappeared and then the thread got deleted so I'll ask them here.1. I only have one of those shitty external optical drives since pc company's stopped being cool and removed them, that should work fine if i have the windows 7 ultimate dvd?2.When updating drivers they all say they wont be compatible, will it just be fine to download them and use them? if not where do I go for stuff like nvidia, amd, and other drivers I need?3. apps like steam and others that say they don't work on windows 7, how do I get them to work? i'm a bit confused on everything.I probably have a few more questions but I can't think of them right now and I have to get to work so I'll only be able to check this thread every now and then, thanks for any of the help

>>107661514Airdrop is somewhere between "doesn't work" and "pain to set up" on non macOS systems, and it's by far the easiest way to transfer stuff between a computer and an iPhone. Apple's proprietary integration stuff like texting and handing off calls between the phone and Mac are also not really replicated on other OSes. Microsoft's Android linker app, Samsung Dex, Motorola SmartConnect, and the Linux Bluetooth stack being able to act as a headset replicate parts of it and in more standard and less locked down ways, but it's still not as smooth and complete an experience as the integration between Apple devices.

>>107662614Chances of finding whatever library or package you need are better in most major distros' package managers than in Homebrew. It's more common to run into stuff that makes assumptions that a system will be the way it is on Linux, than macOS. And for VMs, KVM doesn't have a real equivalent on macOS.>>107664700It takes more effort and technical knowledge to set up and make it work, making it a worse choice for normies.
A few of you may have discovered today that thumbnails suddenly stopped loading in Firefox. I did.Checking the browser console, I found errors for each thumbnail in the catalog which said "A resource is blocked by OpaqueResponseBlocking, please check browser console for details."After disabling browser.opaqueResponseBlocking in about:config, those error messages turned into 403's and the images would still not load.I did a desuarchive search for Firefox and found a post in /trash/ saying "I figured it out. 4chan is now asking for referrers when requesting images from 4cdn... TL:DR; 4chan wants to know where you were before loading an image." along with a screenshot of all about:config settings with the word "referer" in them. With the help of that screenshot, I pinpointed the issue to network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy in about:config, which I had set to 2 for whatever reason, I don't know. Setting it to 0 fixed the problem. Most of you on Firefox probably won't experience this since 0 is the default setting. So, for those of you also experiencing this issue, there's the fix, and now the fix is on desuarchive for others to find.Feel free to discuss the technological/privacy ramifications of this change by 4chan, or if the /trash/ poster's analysis is correct.
I thought it was pedo proxy acting up. Seems to have resolved on it's own.

>>107668958Nah, a byte has always been 8 bits. What you're thinking of is "words" (hence why early computers and storage devices talked about their capacity in "[machine] words") - which yeah, have been some wacky values over the decades. The first mainframe I worked with had 12-bit words, which we called "slabs".
