why do tech companies keep firing high performing veteran employees? cutting costs is not an intelligent solution. its a smokescreen to cover for foreign born and dual citizen CEOs running these companies into the ground to subvert American tech industry.

> be me, Nepali expat
> wake up Sept 4, apps gone: FB, IG, WhatsApp, YT, X, Reddit, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Pinterest, Signal, Clubhouse, Rumble +14 more
Actual scoop:
- Supreme Court ordered social platforms to register locally by Aug 28 or face shutdown
- 26 platforms blacked out; only TikTok & Viber complied
Gov’t stance on VPNs:
- Official decree labels VPNs “unregistered tunnels” and “cyberthreats”
- State media warns: using VPN is unsafe, illegal, may lead to fines or arrest
Why it matters:
1. Freedom of speech wiped out for 30M Nepalis
2. Creators & small businesses lose income overnight
3. People forced to VPN risk legal trouble on top of surveillance

Yeah dude it's totally a slight against anyone rights when a local government prevents Five Eyes intelligence gathering operations to run in their country while also shielding their boomers from foreign psyops.

How's the weather at Eglin AFB today, by the way?

Should I get GPD MicroPC 2 or GPD WIN mini 2025 or Pinephone with a keyboard? WIN mini is 800 EUR, MicroPC 2 is 600 EUR with N300 CPU but 3 times worse performance. Pinephone has raspberry pi 3 performance and is 350 EUR on the Pine64 EU store but only 240 EUR on the global store and the key board for it is 90 EUR on EU store but I can't find it on the global store.

Why are people butthurt over UMPCs now?
>>
>>106484060
People realized that typing on them wasn't any better than a phone, so if you're going to spend any time on a tiny ass keyboard why bother.
If you want to really type things you use a real keyboard.
>>
>>106484060
Nobody cared about them at all, then maidposters started using them heavily and reactionaries got upset about it.
>>
>>106484113
We had GPD Win threads back in 2016 before any UMPC maidposting happened.
15 years ago we had threads about Sony Vaios, etc.

Is that method of disk reporting a ZFS thing, a FreeBSD thing, or a fastfetch thing because of ZFS/FreeBSD?
>>
>>106483950
how could you tell?
>>
>>106484149
I think it's because those directories are separate ZFS datasets. I'm not sure why OPNsense sets it up that way, though, maybe to allow for more granular backups?

tbf some languages have function overloading.

>>106482980
Then you'd end up getting n.f(a) which is longer than both.
>>
I like the bottom one even if it makes nested functions a pain because I prefer procedural programming over functional or OOP. Its nice because you lose the voodoo programming which sucks for some thing, but is better on the whole.

I have a Virginmedia Superhub router but also a TP Link with Openwrt on it, should I be setting the virginmedia router to modem mode and doing everything on the Openwrt?
I'm kind of lazy though, so I'm worried about having to do too much work to get everything working.
