any time ive written something that takes a config, i write a default config file in the source that is read on program entry, then overwrite that in memory with whatever fields are present in the user config, if present. value errors should be dealt with here and exit the program, making it explicitely known that the value is invalid and why. its a very similar pattern to how things like configs for ssh work where there is some master config that mutates in memory after reading in additional configs and crashes when an invalid config option is encountered.

Ok as I already shitposted here a lot, I have this scoreboard.
It worked all fine and dandy, but the time still had to be set via a web interface (there is already a remote to start and stop and set score plus minus).
So I realized that web interfaces are stupid and for a fun game with frens (3D) I want to make it usable without fones. So I need to build a cute remote to set the time.

Well since Windows 10 released you can just install Windows for free without a hacked ISO. Just make sure to use the Enterprise version for easy local account creation then use the script suite MAS to activate it. Use HWID cause it's easiest.

Okay

I have an ancient toaster that's 15 years old now. I can do some web browsing but stuff like YouTube struggles. I can watch 480p on YouTube. Anyway,someone please tell me what kind of videos I should download for watching movies.

1080p anything is no go most of the time. I can handle some 720p videos if they are like divx. Divx movies play well for me. Other than divx, what else? A lot of mkv videos make my computer shit itself and struggle to not crash. Nevermind watching it

He's probably got it set to the default vp9 or av1 and has an ass sku cpu. though my 2008 t400 with a core2duo can play 1080p vp9 youtube fine, even low complexity 1080p24 av1 plays alright. this is using mpv on linux however. the youtube website is slower than playing the videos. i prefer youtube-local over the official website, uses a ton less ram, too

You basically need h264. Even 720p will be watchable on that since even ancient laptops have support for it
