What's the dumbest thing you ever did to your computer anons? Obviously we all know much better now, but I know you've got a story tucked away somewhere about that time you deleted system32 because that nice internet man told you it would make your computer run faster. Or that time you removed the french language pack after getting your shiny new Ubuntu install up and running. Hit me with 'em, let's have a laugh and relive the days when we had to get the family PC running again before dad got back from work.
>>
Fell for the most obvious phishing site ever made by some dickhead anon about a million years ago. Site made to look like Steam's website, there was supposedly a campaign where you could claim a copy of Portal for free (which should tell you how long ago this was), but of course you had to be logged in to do so. Since I always used the client, I'd never logged into Steam on my browser so I guess that's why I just entered my username and password without question lol. I was quick to change my password so nothing bad came out of it, mostly I just felt really fucking stupid and embarrassed lol

1. Downloaded a bunch of porn from a shady website. Got my computer infected with a worm which eventually spread to my mom's computer and then when I brought my laptop to my grandma's place, it infected the whole family.
It was a russian worm which displayed weird russian ads in browsers, literally in my CSGO sessions and other unexpected places like my file browser. One of them was a porn ad, so it was awkward with the family when everyone got that.
I think it eventually went offline because it stopped working. In certain websites it didn't work so I stopped going to those websites which would trigger it.

2. Was downloading shady porn, again, in a deep web forum. The videos were legit, but one of the "videos" was actually just a .exe with a thumbnail that I thought was a video. It ran some weird command shit then quit.
By then I was a bit more tech savvy, so I got rid of it by tracking my task manager and finding out it resided in the tmp folder of Windows.

I've been infected a lot with malware before. I was dumb.

Wouldn’t the choice of GPU be transparent to the user and based on power/performance considerations? Shouldn’t GPU to GPU real time software migration already implemented?
>>
>>107681296
You can't just migrate a running program to another GPU like that. App itself can decide that it wants a specific surface on a specific GPU.
And you said "realtime", uploading and downloading data from GPU is really slow. That's the whole reason we have these ridiculous 20 GB "consumer" cards, so that they can hold more data without needing to upload textures, model weighs or whatever.
If you did implement it anyway, you would start having fps problems on your simple desktop.

Not that idiot but Cantonese is just being phased out as an official language. Cantonese is a huge language with well over a hundred million native speakers in Guangdong alone. Other dialects will be in danger long before Cantonese, and Cantonese has a lot of cultural power the others lack, so it’s really not likely to actually go away imo. Even though it sucks hearing too much Mandarin from HK these days.

No human can actually produce this technology on their own yet, and hasn't at this nm scale. TSMC is the only allowed corporation, because the lithography machines are all borrowed alien technology.
It is very protected technology, given by Saturnians who are now living underground. These are who the people in the cabal speak towards. The reason why Taiwan was chosen was because of its proximity to large oceans, being a small landmass and because of its relatively low population and influence.
It is absurd to think that only a single country on earth that isn't even western can do this technology. No one can, no one but the saturnians.

I hate cniles and you are clearly a javascript jeet, var is literally useless in C# when you can literally omit the constructor name from new()
You are just a lazy bum who needs the computer to deduce a type for you when it should be obvious enough to write
>inb4 var isnt dynamic typing
That’s not the point
The point is that it conveys no information
>>
>>107682051
>The point is that it conveys no information
neither does new(), dumbass, it's only a matter of whether you want that information on the left or the right and most people would find var prettier, given that's also how it's done in a lot of other programming languages (Scala is one that comes to mind)

deafzo might be the first person to prove speakerpos law. most boomers fucked their hearing from concerts and blaring music on their hifi systems in the 70's at the same time without bothering anyone, because they all did it. older generations lost their hearing from gunshots and explosives, as did the 'nam generation. the lore is getting interesting ngl

I am regularly amazed that we pretend folders are the right way to organise files. They’re entirely arbitrary. Every competent file system ignores them to its best ability. Why can’t I have a file in two folders? Why does one have to be a “reference”? Why can’t I filter for files that exist in 3 folders with X extension?

We’ve been played for absolute fools.
>>
they are easy to use and understand
you can make a tagging system if you want, but you'll spend hours tagging adding a million different tags to your files so you can maybe find them easily later

New Zeihan just dropped. Firstly, he says that Reuters article is straight up CCP propaganda, it's 100% fake, just another chinese psyop. 2ndly, even if it was true, it doesn't actually mean anything. It was directly reversed engineered and cobbled together via old ASML EUV parts, China didn't actually make anything themselves, they just glued a bunch of old ASML EUV parts together into a barely functional machine. They can't actually make any of the high tech parts themselves. They are still decades away from mass production of true EUV.

Let's look at the timeline here. As Zeihan states, it will be 2030 before they can produce a single chip from it. A super shitty chip with lots of defects and horrible yields as the EUV is a secondhand piece of shit, so it's not going to viable even for small scale production. It will take another decade after 2030 to improve the EUV machine until it has the performance of ASML's current EUV machines and and can actually fab 3nm nodes at a decent yield and performance.

And modern fabs needs like dozens of EUV machines per fabs for mass production, with hundreds of fabs needed to produce enough semiconductors for China's needs . Even with a truly viable EUV machine, China will need to build up the supply chain to mass produce the EUV to the tune of dozens a month to catch up to ASML and TSMC's output. Which will take another 15-20 years to build up the the immense domestic EUV supply chain within China.

So add everything together and we're looking at another 30-40 years before China can mass produce 3nm chips in bulk. And of course, in the 2050-2060s, ASML will be on next gen lithography beyond even high NA-EUV and TSMC/Intel/Samsung will be on picometer nodes. China will still be decades behind. In fact Zeihan says that 7nm will be the last major node that they will ever fab, after all as Zeihan also notes, don't forget that China is headed towards total economical and demographic collapse by 2030 anyway.
>>
Ah yes, Zeihan, the predictor of total Chinese collapse since 2008.

But it's all true. There's no possible way for China to get EUV before 2050.
