Yes, not because playing a melody using a single hand on piano is technically demanding (it is not), but because the experience acquired by playing actual pieces trains your ear and lets you intuitively pick up on the ways music is composed. In other words you pick up the so called theory intuitively rather than academically. For example, you realize that between C major and G major there is only one note that is different (C major uses F and G major uses F#). If you are building a melody in C major, and at some point instead of playing an F you play an F#, this translates into tension, surprise and so on (use your own ear to judge). Since you switched to the scale that is only one note apart, the transition is seamless compared to moving towards a different scale. Obviously, depending on what you are composing and trying to accomplish, maybe you actually want the dissonance, and you choose to avoid the F#. By playing several pieces, you notice the patterns in the music, and your ear picks up naturally on these patterns. Also, when I say that you should play an instrument, I don't mean at all that you should aim to become a virtuoso. Even a lower intermediate level will do wonders for what you can think of in musical terms, which is perhaps around 800 to 1000 hours for piano. I'm certain some people here are above average in musical aptitude and general intellect and creativity, even if they don't realize it yet, and it'd be a shame if they are not achieving their full potential by not picking up an instrument.

Macbooks are great. If you don't want macos there are some decent Asus and Lenovo laptops with OLED screens. I can't stand using the trackpad on anything other than a MacBook though.

Not only is the performance exactly what you'd need for a laptop or other portable computer, it's a conversation piece. Genuinely more eye catching than any Mac. Super portable too.

This is a great mascot because it accurately encapsulates the strangeness of the Linux userbase. Yeah, this thing is cute. With it's black lifeless eyes, it's bald dome, the unnerving smile, the careful lighting showcasing moobs, slouching on the floor. If you showed this to your daughter, she would run screaming from the room. Assuming for a moment Linux users procreate. Pay someone on Fiverr and get a better mascot already. itt post some better mascots.

most non-nvidias and non-amd:s (intel GPUs did not even appear until year 2006 or something) were quite old, from 1995 to 2005 then everything died an deaths

-S3 company (supported by Win2000/XP)
-Bitboys (Finnish GPU maker bought by ATI, they only functioned for 12 months before getting bought)
-Chips and Technologies (the source of Intel integrated GPU tech, they were bought by Intel in 1997, Chips made separate VGA cards up until 1997)
-Matrox (supported by Win2000/XP but also Win7 for their last model of cards, the current state of Matrox is unknown, they faded away in early 2010s without making a sound)
-NeoMagic made PC GPUs up until 1999 and then changed into various handheld devices making graphic chips for those (their PC graphics were shit so nobody misses it)
-TsengLabs (last models work with Windows 2000, they are from late 90s)

all drivers were mostly 32-bit for all of them

mostly none of these work since Windows Vista
not sure about Linux
