I still think it was a good deal. It's in very good condition and smaller form factor is probably better all things being equal.. only real annoyance is max RAM being 24GB.

My t420 is still going strong but its starting to struggle power wise
I noticed that the more modern thinkpads are now sub $500 on ebay, considering upgrading
Are any of the Ryzen ones good?
Any suggestions for best power:price for around $300-400?
>>
My wife has an older elitebook and I really like the design .
I bought this on eBay as an impulse buy after I learned that 16gb dram models are through the roof. I have a shitty Asus rog gaming laptop I regret buying and want a good old work horse laptop that I can use for basic non-gaymer shit. I have a 1tb drive I can swap in. Did I do alright boys?

i'll be honest i don't understand the whole "it's a hecking circle!!!" argument
isn't that how all business transactions go? one guy gives money to another in exchange for services or other shit
>>
>>107716703
It is a isolated circle, that asks for one more trilli bro, but still haven't created any potentially profitable product yet.
>>
>>107716703
The circular part is in reference to the GDP circlejerk that has been taking place for decades now. The llm bubble is just making it more widely discussed since it's about as transparent as a window.

My PSU died recently after ~11 years, I thought it was a bit strange given that a Gold Seasonic PSU shouldn't crap out right after the warranty is up and the other older components are still fine, but since 11 years is a long time I let it go

Then recently another PC in my building had a Gold Corsair PSU die after just 2 years, way before the warranty was up, I thought that was really strange, could it be that the fact my building started getting lots of power outages recently be wearing out these PSUs much faster than they'd usually last? Is a UPS the only way to get around it?

Something shorted on my HD and the partition data is gone. The data is all there. I normally use minitool for lightweight crap like formatting and changing letters or managing ext4 on windows, and it have a tool to do partition retrieval but I got paywalled. I'm failing to pirate it too. Can you guys point me the way for a free tool that if not rewrites the partition, at least retrieves the data? Preferable windows, but I can deal with linux too. Please and thank you, happy new year

What do you use for face part (lip/eye) segmentation? MediaPipe would've been nice but it isn't working on Python 3.13 yet.

What does /g/ use to automate home and control it?!
I started using home assistant on a rpi, it works but too cumbersome, also the widget thing never works on the phone for some reason, the whole idea is doing stuff from the phone homescreen not going in the app just to click a button.

No. The imminent data loss I will experience in the future will cause me great psychological discomfort, however. If only I would have listened to the current warning signs: no backups, no RAID. I will feel great anxiety and there is nothing I can do about it, because I simply cannot be bothered.

Bros, I've been waiting for the pixel 11 pro release because I only buy 2nd gen hardware releases since I know the pixel 10 and n use the new custom soc from Google. I know the 11 is basically going to be a hella refined version of the 10 so it'll last a long ass time.
Problem is, im a concerned about the dram shortage making these phones obscenely expensive beyond their 1k intro price (i always wait for them to drop 250$ midway through the year).
My pixel 7 pro died and I ended up replacing it with with a refurb model but now I'm nervous and debating if I should just get the pixel 10 pro with some extended Google warranty.
How badly do y'all think the dram shortage is going to fuck smartphones?
Ended up buying an elitebook g11 for 500$ that has 32gb of ram to hold onto for the next 5 years as a good workhorse laptop because of all of the bullshit.

If you think these are too light, 55g will be lighter (these are 60g springs)
