When you're searching for something that has nothing to do with Russia. Yandex is actually okay. I'd you're searching for something technical and not controversial google is pretty good
>>
DDG kinda sucks but if you can overlook the outages and the fact it's a bing rewrap, the actual search results are acceptable, don't censor porn and actually try not to track the shit out of you.

Add to the mix an AI for searches (not perplexity since I think they jew your data) and it should be fine

To be brutally honest, all search engines are pretty bad in the big 2025.
Here’s my rotation…

>DuckDuckGo
Browser default. Used for simple day to day browsing, mostly because of !bangs to quickly redirect a search to a specific website like youtube, amazon, wikipedia or google maps

>chatGPT/Claude
Anything in depth & technical.
>>“Hey, I have a 2013 MacBook Air with intel QuickSync GPU accelerated video encoding. I want to use the feature, but don’t want to pay for a proprietary program. Please generate a bash script that utilizes FFMPEG to encode videos with this feature.”

>Yandex
Good for finding stuff that’s normally behind paywalls like OF, Patreon or SubscribeStar.
I’ve noticed it doesn’t really suppress conspiracy theory sites either(as long as they’re not about Russia). So I guess that’s a plus if you’re a /pol/tard

Finished a little game using a custom engine and tools. Kind of me just fiddling around with Dear ImGui and C++.
Uses an animation format borrowed from another game, and I made a totally new version of the animation editor that game had.
This is just sort of a test project to help me get my feet wet and try the editor out.

There are excellent FOSS alternatives available. I know you're going to defend your proprietary garbage like goyshop because it has a few extra features, maybe if you cared enough you'd implement those features into the FOSS alternatives instead of giving up your freedom for the sake of convenience.

lisp machines are a remnant of the past. they do not make any sense in the modern world because of glaring security issues. do you really want some smelly webjeet to be able to send code lisp code to your machine that gets ran as any program would? that being said emacs is as close as you can get to a modern lisp machine, and it can replace much of your computing if you want.
>>
>>107699518
>For example, how do you run multiple instances of the same program then?
Emacs Lisp provides thread and process abstractions.
https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/elisp/Threads.html
https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/elisp/Processes.html
Surely, a lisp machine could provide similar abstractions for running functions concurrently and asynchronously.
>>
>>107699965
The first part is not strictly true. While I agree I don’t want my web browser to be able to modify arbitrary code on my system, that’s also precisely the issue we had with Unix. But many bugs allowing unintended memory access wouldn’t have been possible on a Lisp machine, so the criticism cuts both ways. It’s too strong a claim to make that they don’t make sense at all.

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

why would you ever check user input in a hot loop. on modern hardware the first thing you have to ask yourself is "how often does this run?". If it's less than 100000 times a second then microoptimizations dont matter at all. It's just timewasting bike-shedding.

Pretty much this is all you have to know. It's really a shame because I enjoyed EOS a long time ago. Very comfy because I don't like to rice and have no need of choice like that. I found out the Dev was a troon when the inevitable troon sperg out occurred. very sad.

the 'trick' with ntfs is that if you have a crash or unsafe shutdown (i.e. power loss). you should boot into windows and let it run chkdsk before using it again, as linux doesn't have a fsck for ntfs. this doesn't necessarily mean you need a full windows install, even just attaching it to a vm and running it with a windows install dvd is enough to be able to run chkdsk on it.
ntfs support in linux really useful for many things, but as a permanent solution it's not ideal, it's more for interacting with windows computers and being able to get your data off of it

Nothing would work if you needed a driver for your CPU. If the BIOS isn't even detecting it then it's not installed properly.
>>

I'm pretty sure any kind of write to NTFS using Linux is enough for Windows to flag it as needing CHKDSK on boot. Pressing any key to skip it used to be a constant thing back when I used an NTFS drive as shared storage. I use a NAS for this purpose now.

No, reddit is the easiest source to find for genuine comments made by real, innocent people (not paid by industries or marketers).

As for the accuracy and truthfulness of the information on reddit, it depends. Most of the people who post there are normies with no education or culture, so I advise you to take their information with a grain of salt.

Most correct answer. Reddit has better bot and brigading resistance than most platforms, not because they care, but because it gets in the way of their own ad revenue stream.
But the objective value of anything you find there will be an absolute crapshoot depending on the sub.

There is the whole "Eglin has the most active reddit users :D" stat.
And every single subreddit is running moderation bots.

Years when the major operating switched to the flat design:
2011 Android 4
2012 Windows 8
2013 iOS 7

That was 11-14 years ago. It's hard to think that the flat design now has lasted longer than the 3d skeuomorphic designs lasted.

But yeah I really miss the designs of late 2000s-very early 2010s.

>>
>>107700089
You and op are dumber than the dumbest gorilla nigger to walk the earth.
Your power from the outlet goes to your house breaker panel, which is shared across your entire house, then that goes out to the power pole and over into your local power transformer, which is shared with your street or block, then that goes along some 10kv or so wires to your local substation, which is shared with your entire neighbourhood or more.
Everything is under load. You can never raise voltage higher than the source, so a load in your neighbours house is all the same.

There are two issues.
1. Power factor overall across an entire city is fucked, which can lower measured rms voltages using a known load like this
2. Reliance on cheap electronics can cause inaccurate results.

If you want to measure your power at home accurately, use an oscilloscope
