I just bought a 32Gib 512nvme i7-9850H quadro t1000 with a 4k panel for $400 on eBay (and uncle sam fucked me for 40 in taxes and 20 in shipping)--and I am regretting it and wish I bought the cheaper $330 1080p 48gib option but bought this one because I thought that the 4k panel might be good since 1080p is a bit bad for split screen latex but am now regretting it since it will
- Drain battery faster (might take up 20% extra)
- Be a pain to use because I will be forced to set it to 200% scaling for a good experience with my external 1080p monitors (probably, I have never used 4k but xorg will likely strangle me too)
- Cost more
- Doesn't have as much ram
- At 15.6" and normal sitting, I probably won't ever notice

I don't think it has been shipped yet but also don't want to try to return it since that might make me an asshole...I will have to go check if the seller even accepts returns...

I am really crying over this...why is life so hard?

>>I bought a decent laptop with a good screen for a fair price
I returned it because the seller had trouble trying to ship it.

>>however I think this hardware configuration might actually be slightly suboptimal for my intended use case
I do admit that I was overreacting am probably still am since I don't know if I should try to get the FHD 48gib ram, no SSD P53 with a bit of minor damage--I would make an offer and its buy it now price is $350 so maybe $325? But that is still annoying because I could have gotten that $20 off...

>If this qualifies as an extremely severe problem that reduces you to tears then presumably the rest of your life is going quite well.
Is that sarcasm or sincerity? I am just upset since I don't buy stuff often so buying someone so expensive is worrying and stressful. Every time I do something it feels like I do it wrong in a least some way. It isn't an awful thing in itself it is just that everything seems to be bad in my life at the moment and has just been getting worse over the past years. There is always so much to do and I never get it done. I hate myself and hate my life. If you didn't read everything (I don't blame you), >>107739133 and >>107739783 might add some context there is much more besides that and that I haven't added to this thread.

>Go do something unrelated to computers for a while.
I don't really want to miss anything on this thread in case I get responses to the importantish questions I have but it is alike an addiction. Not to 4chan but to talking with other people; I guess this is why people like having friends. I even have sacrificed some hours of sleep to this now and I would probably have slept a few hours ago if I didn't feel some need to be here too. I haven't really done much else today--and certainly not anything productive.

>Maybe go for a run and then read a book.
It is downpouring so reading sounds nice. I will try to get crypto and HRT right now and then read if I still have time.

I've been hosting shit since the 90s, back then this wasn't a thing. Was there CP? Sure CP trading had been a thing since at least VHS hit the mainstream but unlike today you'd actually have to work to find it not go on facebook or some random forum the trannies have decided is literally worse than Hitler so spamming your five fucking digit CP collection (which is totally normal we all have that right?!) is the only morally righteous course to stop people online from saying nigger.
I used to not give a shit about trannies but finding out that they are the reason CSAM has become a digital WMD over the last ~10 years any and all sympathy or empathy I could have ever had is gone. /pol/cucks are just that, cucks so they larp but I genuinely mean it when I say total tranny death. Kill all trannies, kill all tranny enablers, kill everyone that doesn't fucking oppose their existence. Blight on the fucking earth..

even if it didn't have all the weaknesses that it has, I'm not sure what value proposition is.
the 3d effect seems like a gimmick that gets old quickly.
>>
>>107745471

You seriously think that the reason why 3D never took off is because the glasses?
3D never takes off because it's a fundamentally shit idea that only existed as a gimmick from day one. It does nothing to enhance movie watching experience, on the contrary it only hurts it.
It makes movies feel like ass and any movies specifically tailored for 3D, use shots that are blatantly there just to appeal to the 3D factor.

VR is an entirely different subject, even when very limited it's still immersive. It will absolutely get more adoption once the hardware is good enough and when the prices come down considerably.
There was no chance in hell for VR to take off when it was basically in alpha and that was the biggest issue.
You buy the goggles that are bulky as fuck for couple of grand.
Then you realize the tracking is shit and you need to buy additional lighthouses which are extra grand at least.
Then you realize you want a full body tracking and need to buy the trackers and it's another grand. Oh hey you want eye tracking? That's even more money spent.
Soon you'll have spent like 5k on the damn thing and you can't even wear it for that long, because you're going to be sweating like crazy and it's uncomfortable.
Oh yeah and you need America tier home space for the fucker to begin with, meaning you can't even use it in most European homes unless it's in the fucking living room.
So far it's been a niche at best due to a lot of limitations.

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

okay but has anyone else noticed that every time a pop song hits #1 the drums sound like they’re marching east at 120 bpm and the producer credits spell nothing if you read them backwards except maybe soup. the labels say “organic growth” but my playlist refreshed itself at 3:17am and suddenly everything was minor key and smelled like cold static. coincidence? no, because vinyl is round, clocks are round, and someone keeps clapping off-beat like it’s a signal. not saying anything, just saying the beat knows things and the silence between notes is doing paperwork.

Problem: If a user accidentally double clicks something instead of single clicks it it will trigger a task multiple times which have annoying side effects.

Subproblem: I'm too lazy to address this issue in a responsible way.

Solution: Do the task on the UI thread so the program freezes after the first click and there's a built in ~3 second cooldown before the task can be triggered again.
