Yes there are.
They cloak themselves as "self-hating """"""whites"""""""
I thought everyone knew this by now.

He removed (monetized) Tweetdeck and in a true manbaby move he turned off the whole feature of being able to check someone's likes just because people kept calling him out for the stuff he likes instead of just having the option to make your likes private if you wish. Also gave rise to infinite pajeetbots and killed free use of API even for smaller stuff, making the platform less useful. Pretty sure being able to browse tweets without an account was also removed during his time.
At least he removed the algos all overpromoting leftist ideals but that's about it.

Monetization of engagement is the worst thing ever introduced to that shithole. People figured out quickly that dumb simple ragebaits get more engagement than posts with any effort put into them and flooded the site with shit. Stale facebook memes, third worlders who have just discovered the meaning of the word based, AI edits that are just Disney characters playing Squid Game or Joker fighting Peaky Blinders, it genuinely feels like the site is made for and used by 14 year olds.

I'm fascinated by the way the text overruns. it could just provide more space in the text box, but it doesn't. I wonder why. does text resolve in a different way than the general image composition?

I am about to give up. I need a new laptop and everything is shit. The only one I can find at a decent price is the Lenovo LOQ series. I am just afraid it will sound like a jet engine. Is there really nothing else with good specs at an affordable price? Thinking around 800

you can just repaste them when they start making noise and clean the fans. far easier these days than what it used to be
but honestly, as long as you don't buy the ones with the overpriced high end graphics card and keep to 3050/4050s/4060s or something like that you're not going to overspend and it's not going to be unbearingly hot. you don't need a better graphics card in a laptop anyway really

Why did valve based SteamOS off of arch instead of something like debian or fedora?
15 replies and 1 image omitted. Click here to view.
>>
I think Arch is just dead simple to mess around with. Packages for example are basically just a shell script, while in Debian are famously a pain in the balls.
Though the real reason is probably that it's someone's favourite distro at Valve
>>
>>107671951
Debian and Fedora make it a dick and a half to actually try to do something different.
>>
>>107671951
Because Valve DID base Steam Debian ("OS" 1-2) off Debian and found it wanting).
>The decision to move from Debian to Arch Linux was based on the different update schedule for these distributions; Debian, geared for server configurations, updates core OS software in one large release, with intermediate patches for known bugs and security fixes, while Arch uses a rolling update approach for all parts. Valve found that using Arch's rolling updates as a base would be better suited for the Steam Deck, allowing them to address issues and fixes much faster than Debian would allow.
>>
>>107671951
Okay, normal mainstream distros:
Arch, Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, openSUSE.
Yes, there are more, but those + derivatives are the default. Only Arch and Debian are completely community managed. Sure the other distros are great, but they COULD be influenced by SUSE/Red Hat IBM/Canonical.
>But now that I'm thinking about it, Gentoo or Nix would be an option as well. SteamOS defaults to Flatpaks on the desktop anyways, they even package distrobox+podman now, so the distro really doesn't matter.
>>
Debian is the only distro needed
All other distros are nigger tier

No it does. It's still a binary and it's touching raw addresses. Are you retarded?
>>
>>107674885
Every code is "binary". The point is that you can't run that code without including some runtime. Running bare metal means you can just run the code directly, without attaching it to some runtime that sets up environment necessary to get this running.

What do we know about the personal lives of the people running 4chan?

According to journalist rumors, RapeApe the mod manager was a war veteran in iraq or afghanistan who became a janitor in 2005. If true, it means he likely was a typical Bush supporter and is from a suburban white family. Almost certainly he is in his 40s now.

What do we know about the other staff members?
