are KOSS headphones any good? or are they influencer slop?
2 replies omitted. Click here to view.
>>
No they aren’t. If your looking for studio grade headphones i’d recommend Sennheiser although you need to purchase an adapter for them if it’s for a computer
>>
ksc75's are actually pretty good
portapros just dont sound very good youd have to tune them, too much bass AND peaky treble
>>
For the price definitely but they're not gonna change your life like some people make it sound
>>
>>107734191
All the good ones are "semi"-openbacks based around the same or modified driver, for under 50€, best bang for your buck out of that price-range for non-IEM and non-Chinese options. Cable is shit and not removable but they usually have good warranty and there's some mods for that on Etsy or Ali. Kcs75 is more "bright" with almost no subbass while Porta Pro and KPH30/40 are more traditional with the bass. You can get more bass for the latter with YAXI or other thicker aftermarket pads, KPH has a more traditional band that pushes against your head more so it should have more bass.
"Semi"-openbacks don't block out noise and they're supposed to let sound in and out, these are small so they wont leak to your whole house but people next to you will hear what you're listening to.

Linus torvalds bought macbooks for his kids (he installed linux) and he even uses an m series macbook running Linux. The hardware is good, the software is just aids.

Don't buy anything OTHER THAN IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T, X, and W/P Series if you want the Real Business Experience™
>Other business laptops are welcome in /tpg/ (Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook)

Why ThinkPad?
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap
>Excellent keyboards, tactile feel and quiet + the TrackPoint
>Great durability: magnesium roll cage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop
>Easy to repair (most models), upgrade & maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model, spare parts easy & cheap to obtain
>Excellent Linux & *BSD support

What I meant to say is that every time I wiggle the charging cable, the connection is interrupted and then restored because the plug doesn’t seem to be securely seated in the laptop.

>>107733351
More than likely your battery has a dead cell or three. Remove the battery altogether and I bet it'll work flawlessly with the AC adapter only.

Smallest footprint is going to be the Z13 or X1 Nano. Neither of those are cheap. There are the tablets with a detachable keyboard but...meh.

Realistically, something you can find that is a small enough footprint that won't cost you a fortune - X13G1 or G2. X380/X390 if you're really limited on budget.

Though not this anon, I did this recently too >>107714702 with a C13 and though im perfectly happy with a linux-only machine that's a drawback for some. I found myself needing to do a fair bit of keyboard remapping to make the Chromebook keyboard functional ("Search" key where CapsLock is, remapping some of the F keys to Ins and Del, etc) but I muddled thru and it's fine now.

I use the voice chat thing as my barometer for howbgood they are because im my mind an ai you can converse with thats indistinguishable from a person that can do answer anything quickly and accurately is the end goal.

So far gpt is the best. Its latest model responds so incredibly fast when you're talking to it you kinda forget that its even looking anything up.
Its tone isn't always the best. I still like grok for its tone. Gemini is really good as well.

Looking for audiophile headphones of start to mid tier or good buck fr bang at around 200-600 dolla. Wired or Bluetooth.

The thing is, I love to listen while I sleep and I sleep sideways so I would really appreciate headphones that feel comfy when squeezed against your ear and the pillow (if any).

My previous ones from 2013-14 were my audio technica ath m50x, they are great - still using them. The wired got a damaged after years but I just replaced it, as they are replaceable.
/g/ used to shill them back in the day, they proved their worth, sound quality is superb.

I'd just like maybe something wireless that feels comfy side-sleeping.

windows doesn't support 16bit windows programs anymore (was only supported on 32bit windows, and 11 is 64bit-only)
wine can run 16bit windows programs on 64bit linux. ironically, it is possible to run 16bit windows programs on 64bit windows... by using a port of the component of wine that does this

I dual booted windows and Linux for years. Finally wiped windows about a year ago BC I never used it anymore. Only litteal fucking regards still use windows.
>>
>>107736757
I fell for the dual booting meme 3 years ago. I bought a 500GB SSD and put linux mint on it. After 2 days I stopped touching it and my computer auto boots into windows 7 every day still. I don't even use the SSD, it's just lifeless in my case. Dual booting is gay faggotry and I would rather suck nigger dick than lower my quality of life by dual booting to use my computer.

>I figure that if I can convert the whole thing to an expression it can compute it without branching:
you are fucking yourself over and avoiding all of the hardware and shader compiler support for handling this sort of thing without branching by using ancient branchless programming tricks
and if you're going to try and actively do that sort of thing in case you don't trust the shader compiler make use of the dedicated shader builtins for avoiding/reducing branches and not CPU SIMD techniques from back when SIMD instructions were literally only capable of arithmetic
like the balloting related APIs or some of the features of subgroups (i don't know what HLSL calls them)

also even if it doesn't avoid it gpu hardware can handle branching considerably better now
>>
The z-fighting issue was caused by a noise function in the fragment that was being used for per face color variation. Opus asked if the z-fighting was flickering or not and deduced it was a shader issue and not a depth precision issue. I asked it about potentially implementing jolt physics and it was excited so I’ll do that after I make dinner. I’ll post a video when it’s complete. Looks like it won’t take long. Jolt simply needs a list of triangles to make a custom collider for each chunk and it already provides a “player” present which I assume is just a capsule collider. Certainly easier than rolling your own physics.

Are all irl events a bust?
>>
Here it is, courtesy of Claude Opus. I did not touch a single line of code. This is about as far as I'll go with this project. I need to get back to working on my new renderer, which I'm also using Opus for albeit a very contained amount. But I will implement this stuff soon. Funny thing, I actually built Jolt wrong (forgot to disable a cmake setting so it would be compatible with msvc) so Opus went into the external folder itself and built it correctly. I didn't even ask.

Closed source software is not the same as patent protected software. Releasing a offline usable closed source binary under no license is so much more ethical then a proprietary (patent) license that threatens people with prison time and civil liability for sharing/modifying software or using it the wrong way. Also the addition of spyware sometimes and cloud tethering. Which I also oppose.

But it seems TMK that Stallman may conflate offline usable closed source and patented software as if they are both as bad. but maybe some people know more about him then I do, Does he recognize the difference and what does /g/ think of the difference? I'm saying I strongly agree with Stallman big tech patent hoarding and patent trolling is harmful, and and I view the GPL3 like a voluntary contract programmers agree to participate in and hope to abolish all patents one day, but I'm not following his logic that seems to hint at closed source software being illegal as an ultimate goal. Patents should be illegal but not software with no public code.

Another one down! My fellow Americans, we are winning the long battle.
Stauton VA is another on the list of cancelling Flock contracts and getting AI surveilance cameras out of their city and allowing the people to "get a breath of fresh air without us knowing".
There is still hope and still good in people realizing this is transforming the nation into another CCP or N Korea state. The trial for the Instutite for Justice v. City of Norfolk Va is imminent. There is a way out of this hell.
