Glownigger

We didn't know how good we had it with SATA SSDs. M.2/NVME is cheap shit that scales poorly and is inconvenient to access.

>lack of PCIE lanes
PCIe switch or bifurcation.

>SATA doesn't have this problem.
Yes, because the SATA controller basically is a switch + PCIe bridge in one already.

>What good is NVME if you can only use it on one slot due to a lack of PCIE lanes?
Also what shitty boards you buy when even non high end X870 boards these days have like four x4 NVMe slots?

Jews did this to us.

They even import poojeets now, all in the name of short-term profits. Based China is the cybertopia future.

>>

no it doesnt
cyberpunk was never
>every corporations tries to do everything and go everywhere
it was more
>the top corporations are extremely ruthless and act globally
current day mass surveillance and behavior by the top companies in the world falls right in line with cyberpunk fiction.

also the biggest cyberpunk works like neuromancer didnt necessarily portray corpos as especially hyper efficient or going into every lane just very big compared to nation states. a video card company today has a higher market cap than all but germany, china, usa's gdp which fits right in line with cyberpunk predictions.

neuromancer also predicted the world's richest corpo leaders would isolate, be into stuff like cloning,hybrenation,brain-computer-interfaces....

No idea but Tim Epic is the most successful between those 3

Early 2020s: China enacts laws severely crippling the internet for people unless they show ID

Jul 2025 (Online Safety Act): UK enacts laws neutering the internet for people unless they show ID; remains in effect despite initial outcry

Dec 2025 (Online Safety Amendment): Australia enacts laws neutering the internet for people unless they show ID; likely to remain in effect despite current outcry

Apr 2026? (KOSA, made it into the House recently): US enacts laws neutering the internet for people unless they show their IDs

EU has similar shit on the table iirc, they're the fucking EU they love regulation

This will get worse, and this won't go away, at least not in the way you want it to - it'll be an impossibly difficult sell because "THINK OF THE CHILDREN!" Security theater is notoriously difficult to reverse, just compare flying pre and post 9/11. This'll probably be more of the same. Again, UK already had a petition, the gov there just laughed in everyone's faces. Only way any of this is really "going away" is, like, the internet itself going extinct.

Not just this btw, also got countries banning Chinese social media (which in many cases can ironically be less restrictive), Android banning sideloading, etc.

This won't get kids playing outside again. They'll just watch only the government-OK kid-friendly TV, YouTube Shorts, and AI. Sheeple will still use a heavily policed internet and talk to Amanda the AI HR Lady because "brain need dopamine". China's still full of internet addicts despite having long had one of the world's most censored internets.

I hope you realize that blocking a script from running locally on your browser doesn't actually stop your browser from requesting the page. They know you watched it server side.
>>
I can't imagine why people would continuously need to monitor threads like this and add paragraphs and line after line of contextual additions to a text file loaded by an ad blocker when you could just use a front end that doesn't have any of this crap.

most people thought simply letting sunlight into a house and allowing 80s to 90s white plastic to bathe in sunlight will turn them yellow after a few years

it was more complicated though

most white plastics contained bromide which stops them from catching fire, there were also a few white plastic types not having bromide in it, and those did not turn yellow..

because bromide was a health hazard (altough getting it into your system by touching plastic is not a likely scenario) they stopped using it in the year 2001 and as a consequence white plastic made since 2001, will not turn yellow

haven't seen them in a while, the replacement is chromeOS and similar which as far as I know can run android apps. If you need to run some android natively under x86 the best bet is to use the SDK and install an emulator, which is not an emulator but a vm instead, pretty fast by the way

who is the oldest person on this board that witnessed the earliest technology?
i'm pretty old at 35 so the earliest i experienced was dial up internet in the early 90s but i feel like there must be wiser wizards lurking, i didn't even get to experience usenet properly
my parents told me tales of programming on punch cards and how annoying it was when you made a mistake in your program written in FORTRAN

I'm 114 years old. My eyesight is nearly gone now, so my great grandson reads to me from this message board and posts on my behalf.
We never really talked about technology when I was a kid, but I remember when my mama got a mangle and she was so happy.
My grandson tells me it is sometimes customary to accompany messages with a picture of a sad frog, but I have never understood this, I hope someone will be kind enough to enlighten me.

one monero to whoever can fix this Python script for downloading images off https://doujin.io.

script:
https://files.catbox.moe/tumhit.zip

the script fails when it tries to download these comics:
https://doujin.io/manga/976723514/naughty-onozuka
https://doujin.io/manga/1218892784/old-library-uishlist

if the website tells you "403 Forbidden" when you click on any comic, go to the main page, create an account (it's free), go to search and type in their titles "naughty onozuka" or "old library uishlist".
