is HDR considerably better in W11? enough to upgrade from W10? i've been on the edge about upgrading, even more now with the reports about it killing SSDs, and i'm looking for reasons to do it.

I'd ask the Home Media thread but they're fucking dead right now, so I'll ask here.

I have two YottaMaster externa 5-bay drives. They keep falling asleep and I've tried to change their sleep setting using the provided official software.

Doesn't work. Keeps giving me this shit.

While funny as shit also is starting to annoy me. Anyone have any idea?

it's not super great but naturally it will get improvements along the way, so definitely necessary if you want to use HDR a lot

4chan is allowed to exist precisely because it serves the role of controlled opposition. On the surface it looks chaotic, subversive, even dangerous to the established order. In truth, it is a carefully managed honeypot designed to capture the restless, the angry, and the disillusioned, and to channel their energy into nothingness. Those who might have built lives of success, families, movements, or enterprises instead become trapped in a cycle of cynicism and wasted time. Potential leaders, creators, and builders are neutralized before they can even begin, caught in a net that convinces them resistance is impossible and that resignation is the only honest path.

This year’s so‑called hack was part of that same illusion. By staging a breach and making it look as though the site were vulnerable and unofficial, the real owners were working to preserve the myth that 4chan is outside the reach of power. In reality, it functions exactly as intended, as an intelligence operation cloaked in the aesthetics of anarchy. The illusion of instability is a mask that hides the greatest stability of all: total government control over the digital space where angry young men vent their rage. What appears to be uncontrolled chaos is in fact curated permission, a trap that works better precisely because it pretends not to exist.

The effect is that those who might challenge authority from the outside are disarmed before they ever act. Their will is drained, their days are consumed, and their spirit becomes fractured in a maze designed by professionals who understand human psychology down to the bone. What could have become rivals to the system are instead kept docile by endless threads, fake debates, and algorithmic despair. And while they waste their lives in cycles of contempt and distraction, the machinery above them operates without resistance, satisfied that its greatest threats have been transformed into its most harmless captives.

Well, what about headphones with replacable wire? I basically don’t want my headphone to become paperweight if the wire gets damaged
>>
>>106465333
Most decent wired headphones have replaceable cables. For best audio quality get a pair of open backs if you don't need them to block noise. Aune AR5000, HD6XX are both decent options. Maybe FT1 Pro if you want to try a planar magnetic headphone.
>>106465282
Not really, since I use well made headphones nowadays. I used to have an Arya that fucking fell apart, however.

>Nothing wireless will be "the best" in that price range but if you want something not terrible then Edifier S3 or Audeze Maxwell.
the main thing with wireless is to ditch the bluetooth, but he's an iphone user so the S3 should probably be decent, genuinely confused at the marketing for these, audeze penrose rebrand sold as an edifier stax.
it does have aac and EQ so I'd point him there unless gaming headset is appealing
>>106465333
well that changes things. Without a way to play higher impedance, the AR5000 is probably the best bet, will work with your apple dongle.

Aune has no distributors where i live. Can’t import it either because of the third world shithole i am living in
Sennheiser i couldn’t any of the hd6xx series at msrp, even then they are pretty expensive
FT1 Pro Sounds very appealing to me from what i’ve looked up and is pretty accessible for purchase. Anything else i should know about them?

Can play loud from portable sources so you should have no issues running it from a phone. Distortion is low but higher in the bass so if you're planning to EQ them for more bass for example, don't go too crazy. Build quality is decent but make sure you get the new version with better screws, see picrel. If the headband is not comfortable enough stock then you can 3d print or buy an attachable suspension headband for them. If you want more bass there's also the regular FT1 but FT1 Pro has a better frequency response so should sound better.

Does anyone remember the mineral oil fishtank PC thing that was popular 10 years ago? I want to do that, but by simply dunking one of those mini PCs in a small fish bowl, installing a submersible oil pump, and running it to a fanless/passively cooled radiator. And of course short extensions for all the ports.

Or I could even just ignore the pump altogether and have a large radiator simply partially submerged in the oil.

In my mind this would offer the absolute perfect combination of small size and no noise while also having good temperatures. The main problem with the typical ITX oil PCs is that they are fucking heavy, with mineral oil being 8 lbs per gallon.

Is this retarded? I am autistic and hate noise but like cool things like oil cooled PCs.

this only works for low wattage components. back then gpus barely used 150w and people were running single cores/dual cores. but if you're buying low wattage components today, then you're buying a laptop or phone which makes way more sense than this.
>>
>>106465038
I remember hearing about it, but I never saw anyone do it IRL.
I did see someone build a water cooler from motorcycle radiator parts before the era of AIOs and ready-made water cooling hardware.
I also got to see a group of guys use liquid nitrogen to get a Pentium 3 to 3ghz back when reaching 1ghz was brand new
>>
>>106465038
nope
>>
>>106465038
It works and you wouldnt need a pump or radiator either way with a small pc. The main complaint is always the oil climbs cables and its a mess any time you want to swap parts. That and the oil isnt cheap.
>>
>>106465038
nigger plain oil is old news. An actual white guy made a version of this where the non-conductive liquid was vacuumed to near-boiling at room temp, thereby taking advantage of the phase change caused near heat sources. Worked much better and looked much more interesting

my glasses weigh 17g, they have to get this shit down to under 30grams, with retinal resolution, with human fov, with per eye variable focus. We're like 15 years away from all that but even if you solved them, THEN the real difficult problems begin.

Touch and locomotion are far from solved and nowhere near the progress compared to displays. There's also no clear roadmap. Right now it's a giant omni-treadmill that nobody wants in their house, and the next step after that is hooking into your brain steam

FUCK smartphones

>little to no ability to customize or do anything under the hood
>almost all apps have to run through a store managed by jews
>every fucking business and public service in western countries has a mandatory app which you have to make an account on

smartphones are made to be goyim control devices. they're a privacy nightmare intentionally, and every form of entertainment consumed on them is time wasting, mind numbing, dark pattern designed brainrot. and all of these things are going to get even worse and more invasive as time goes on, I predict within 10 years there will be actual brain interfaces that you'll connect to your phone that will be commonplace among normalfags like bluetooth earbuds are now, and they'll look at you funny for saying you don't want your thoughts and feelings going into data centers jewgle and the CIA monitor.
I begrudgingly use my phone when forced to by society or when I don't have a computer available and no more than that.

Cope. The vast majority of companies already host everything on Azure or GCP. For them giving all their data to OpenAI (which is co-owned by Microsoft) is nothing let alone to Google. And the few companies that are ultra paranoid will just buy an H200 and run Qwen Coder.
>>

>Testing, unit testing, etc all becomes far more important when you vibe code.
Anyone with a full braincell would use AI to generate said test and test input and manage the actual important part (aka business code) by hand with limited AI assistance.

>it reads that noise, extrapolates upon it
You're definitely right about this. I notice huge differences in quality between codebases. I'm always careful to proofread and edit it to keep quality up or it starts eating its own shit.
I think it works best for situations where the output you want isn't tightly defined. Say drafting out page layouts when I'm stuck, for me to revise.
If it's something I actually care about though it aint touching it.

I guess I'll ask here instead of /hsg/ because it's really stupid but I can't figure out what I might be doing wrong.

I'm setting up a raspberry pi NAS with that Radxa Penta SATA board with OMV and everything is just fine. Until I try to set up a static IP. Every time I set up a goddamned static IP I lose access and it disappears from my network. I'm doing this headless and it's a pain to get it back on DHCP and back on the network. I'm thinking it might be the router. I actually found an old manual of my (ISP issue) router and the fucking steps are the same ones I've been trying, however it did say to avoid using 192.168.1.10, 192.168.1.11 and 192.168.1.12 and I've been trying to set up as .10. What the fuck is this and why isn't it written literally anywhere else on the ISP documentation and only on a lost manual where the examples are using Windows 7.

I'm going to reflash the OS again and scavenge for an old micro-HDMI cable that I should have and try another IP. If that works I'm going to be pissed.

Does anyone have any idea of what might be happening? I'm sure I'm doing everything right and feel so stupid that I can't seem to make it work.
