I don't regret switching to MacOS. It has all the capabilities of Linux, but is an actually stable just werks OS.

For one arch user like you, there are ten who broke their system through some update.
>>

that's quite a strong exaggeration, also newbies shouldn't be using arch so that's their fault
but for users that actually know linux and rtfm arch is exceptionally retard proof

No, it really isn't. Just updating your packages via the built in package manager should not break your system. This would never happen on MacOS.

How are you spending your last few years of personal computer ownership?
Taking any cautionary measures to squeeze as much life out of your hardware before you have to give it up and by some ultraslim government regulated streaming slab to daily drive as your computer?

if you like ports trees from bsd, you probably will like gentoo.
portage is ports on steroids.

its the opposite to slackware.
where slackware is medieval, gentoo is the future.
but i like running both.
i always update slackware first, get the kernel sources which usually come only a day or max 2 days after they are released from kernel.org, compile kernel and then update my gentoo chroot.
things are separated and stable as fuck. and with btrfs snapshots, i feel safe.
>>
>>107636447

yeah who cares if you get some retention in like... 1 and an half year of usage, just get a new one goy.
>who buys these panels to play at 30 fps? VRR improves tearing at shit frame rates and nothing else
I won't even bother wasting time replying to all of the previous nonsense, if you don't understand what VRR does for frame pacing/input lag reduction compared to vsync (no, tearing isn't an option dumbass) you clearly have no fucking idea what you're talking about
and are you seriously going to pretend that whatever computer you're using can hit a constant 240 fps at high/maxed out settings + high resolution on EVERY single game including the latest unreal engine slop? there's no way you aren't compromising something to make that happen, and even if you do, it's still not as good as vrr is.
you're blind, retarded, and clueless, kys.

>VRR improves tearing at shit frame rates and nothing else,

VRR improves motion clarity, reduces tearing from frame pacing at the _ENTIRE RANGE_ the VRR is set for on the monitor, and however the drivers support it for the given vendor. (Nvidia is jewish)

It's not just for FPS far below refresh.

>So what happens when just one of those 144 frames renders in, say, 6.8ms (146 FPS average) instead of 6.9ms (144 FPS average) at 144Hz? The affected frame becomes ready too early, and begins to scan itself into the current “scanout” cycle (the process that physically draws each frame, pixel by pixel, left to right, top to bottom on-screen) before the previous frame has a chance to fully display (a.k.a. tearing).

I don't see any reason to not use G-Sync + V-Sync w/ 3 fps limited below your max HZ, unless you're some pro e-sport gamer and have the inhuman reaction times to merit it.

>>
>>107636759
You're supposed to use G-Sync with V-Sync and framerate limiter 3 FPS below max VRR rate.
V-Sync won't introduce additional frames as long as you're in VRR range, which the limiter makes sure, it's for compatibility only.

You'll get no tearing and the lowest latency.

Is there a safer embedded programming language than Rust?

In both C and Rust you decide how you handle errors. There is no implicit error handling.

Because you don't want partial or broken updates in large systems like this. You either succeed completely or rollback to the last working version.

creators tend to work in teams.
that's where adobe's power lies, easy sharable projects. if you supply work files using some obscure opensource app, with gimped 'compatible' output, you won't get hired again.

figma took a huge bite from adobe.
video editing has always been fragmented between avid, final cut, premiere and resolve.
haven't seen any good after effects alternative.
>>
>>107634948
>easy sharable projects
No. What you mean to say is that Adobe bought itself a huge share of the industry through being the only option for decades (because back in the day there were less programmers and Adobe bought out any competition), and as such now every big company uses Adobe which purposefully makes its files as incompatible and inconvenient as possible in order to force people to use their proprietary trash between work and home, and since a large chunk of the populace is retarded they won't go through easy pirating and will invest in their shitty scams.
Hence it isn't "easy sharable projects", it's Adobe simply owning the industry through driving others out of business. And if a company forces me to invest in an Adobe app at home I'd rather find another job.
>>
>>107634948
>haven't seen any good after effects alternative.
Because everyone else builds that shit into the main editor, retard.
There's zero reason why After Effects needs to be it's own application.
