Loonix is super replaceable. If Loonix didn't exist, one of the BSDs would take it place.
You'd also kill Android and that'd be based.

>But it's important to have models out there that suggest something else could be going on
Except those models of his are BS. He starts out with assuming that machines cannot ever reason as humans do, and then manages to create a whole load of complexity about how humans might then reason, except it's founded on an assumption that hasn't been proven and which is dodgy.
I'll be generous and simply accuse him of falling into the temporality trap. Yes, we don't CURRENTLY know how to build machines that reason as well as humans can, but that doesn't mean we won't be able to do that in the future. Using the assumption that machines cannot reach humans' reasoning in any serious work is logically very dangerous; if anyone proves that it's possible, your whole reasoning chain goes straight down the shitter. After all, if you assume a falsehood, you prove ANYTHING and it don't mean shit.

The autist is right though. We might get AGI only for it to barely do anything because all low hanging fruit was already picked, simply causing people to lose their jobs while there is no increase in wealth. Causing the remaining (rich) people to fight over a stagnant ungrowing pie while the vast majority of people live in squalor or starve and dictators get uppity with nukes in a zero-sum game.

A complete piece of shit

oh btw don't use the new kernels, oh and if your laptop has an IGPU and a DGPU (90% of laptops), they're probably going to be too old for linux support :)

Why are Linuxfags such filthy liars? Yeah I love setting up a command first hand for everything I launch because A: Linux doesn't support the BIOS firmware and B: Igpu might shit itself from just opening up a youtube video because its too retarded to understand the concept of igpus and dgpus like windows does.

Linux is dogshit for most older laptops. You're better off just unhooking it from the internet and installing XP or windows 7

Reading Vulkan documentation is like reading legal documents, except on top of that it has 500 caveats and special rules because these autists don't want to drop compatibility with some fat retard on a specific Linux distro with a GPU from 2014.

Just do things with Vulkan and ask the AI to help you along, things aren't anywhere near as complex as the documentation makes it seem.

Not taking this one seriously, but there's plenty of retards being honest about their inability to complete the captchas. Shit's real, even if this and the certified mensa iq posts are obvious trolls.
>>
>>107627700
the answer is simple. take every post seriously, but also understand that every post is satire. i refuse to believe people are having trouble with this captcha. maybe its just phonefags who have to thumb the scrollbar or something but in no reality is this shit 'hard'. i compared this to shape sorting blocks and a speak and say because this is genuinely toddler shit and i REFUSE to believe any of this is serious

Nice, cool shit. how long have you been making the engine? I've been wanting to try it out too, but more as an exercise and see what I learn from it. never done any game engine stuff, only data side of things.
>>
>>107627554
In terms of real working time I'd say about 4-5 months? In real time about a year and half. But I started in Rust, then Lisp, then Nim for a bit, then back to Lisp. So lots of exploration in there that I wouldn't really count. If I had to do it all over again it'd probably only take a month or two but this was my first CL project so lots of big rewrites, learning the language, etc. Also I work a full-time job so not as much time as I would want to be able to allocate to it.
>I've been wanting to try it out too, but more as an exercise and see what I learn from it. never done any game engine stuff, only data side of things.
Definitely do it, it's a lot of fun. CL has been the most fun I've had programming. What type of game do you have in mind?

Is there some lisp OS project going on that I'm unaware of? I've been wondering since the 90s how come no one is attempting to sell a modern lisp machine. A microkernel combined with a userspace entirely written in LISP seems like the obvious way forward. We can run all the POSIX and NT/Win32 shit through emulation layer and finally be happy.

No Guix and StumpWM doesn't count.
