You need to figure out why you want to browse 4chan in the first place. Is it intense boredom? Insecurity about your performance in college? You need to be aware of your triggers. This way, when you notice a trigger, you can be mindful. Tell yourself "I want to browse 4chan and create bait threads for attention". And just do nothing and sit with the feeling. Perhaps find another thing to do instead. Pick up a book, stare out the window, doomscroll instagram (like normal person) or something else (and preferably non-screen).

For productivity, really commit and do things like >>107740213 said.

Good luck. I know the feeling and it's an ongoing struggle for me. But every week I get a little closer to doing the things I actually want to do.

>>
>>107740144
You aren't addicted to the internet, you're addicted to not studying for your exam. This has interesting implications, one of which is that if the internet somehow disappeared, it wouldn't help you at all, as you would switch to something else and avoid studying all the same. But I would say the important implication is that when you understand this addiction, you can treat it. Stop trying to "get off the internet" and instead start "trying to study for your exam". The former doesn't work because you get bored, and when you're bored you go on the internet. The latter is very easy when you think it through. Just open your books and start reading/doing problems/etc.When you find yourself with your phone in hand later, don't blame yourself for being addicted to it. Just set down your phone, ideally somewhere out of reach, then pick up the book again.

And being honest you are probably in a position where

You need to cut the constant stimuli so you feel bored, once you spend a while bored you will naturally start studying.

My board up and died yesterday so I'm looking again. The thing is I like a somewhat tactile switch and most of the big recs like Rainy 75 and Bridge 75 all seem to come with linear switches. I like 75% and TKL form factors best, RGB is not needed at all. Looking for recs under 150 USD

My board had "HyperX Aqua" switches which I guess are pretty similar to MX Browns. I have used MX Reds before for a year and hated them

My friends and I do karaoke with some stem splitting service. It works fine, but we have issues timing the songs. Does anyone know a service that can take the vocal stem and turn it into a follow along track? The lyrics don't have to be right, it just needs to cue us in at the right times.

Don't buy anything OTHER THAN IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T, X, and W/P Series if you want the Real Business Experience™

Why ThinkPad?
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap
>Excellent keyboards, tactile feel and quiet + the TrackPoint
>Great durability: magnesium roll cage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop

Out of curiosity, what's the oldest ThinkPad that would be able to run games like Half-Life 2 and CS: Source? I'm not asking for too much, would mainly be playing at hopefully 1080p/60 on an external monitor. Probably the T series would be ideal.
>>
>>107745504
I've played HL2 on a T60p but it wasn't the best experience, and the cooling solution barely kept up. You need something with a discrete GPU. None of the iGPUs in and around that era are going to be sufficient.

Is there a language barrier or a reading comprehension issue here?

I've been using the term "footprint" because besides weight that's what dictates 'portability'. Screen size is only a heuristic. Yes, Lenovo isn't making 12" form factor Thinkpads anymore with their big suitcase handle nigger lip bezels around the screen like they did in 2012. But since then they are making 13" laptops with bezels skinnier than [insert your 2d waifu]'s slit that are, dimensionally, almost the exact same L x W and invariably shorter in H, and weigh less (muh thin).

One of the many mods for the X230 was a 13" 16:10 screen. It fits in the lid. A 13" screen contained within the same footprint on your desk, or in your bag.

Observe, niggers:

>X220:
305 × 206.5 × 19.0–26.6 mm
(12.01 × 8.13 × 0.75–1.05 in)

Anybody here try/use Bedrock linux?
I've been on Manjaro for a while, but I'm getting the itch to switch distros.
Debian's not at the top of my list, but I'd consider it.
I refuse to ever use Ubuntu again. (There was some unpleasantness back around '08 and I refuse to ever give them another second of my time.) Nothing really against Mint. I've used it before, though, and it keeps me in the Debian branch, which I'm not very used to.
CachyOS is, I guess, catching on for some reason. It's another Arch derivative. Can't be worse than Manjaro. And I'm somewhat used to the Arch ecosystem.
But this Bedrock thing seems like a bit of a winner. Doesn't pin you down into any one branch. Plus, as I understand it, I can just install it over top of my existing install, instead of starting over from square one.
Anyhoo, just wanted to know if anyone here has experience with it and would/wouldn't recommend giving it a try.

Then I might as well stay where I'm at, which I don't want to do.

Tell me why the use of Linux namespaces in container runtimes is worse than this dogshit that Bedrock does. If you can't, your argument is null and you should just use Debian with podman.
>>
>>107745183
I'm not, like, asking your permission, or even for your blessing. I'm asking if anybody used this shit and if it's worth trying.
Still, your recommendation is noted.
>>
>>107743422
I suggest NIGGIX.
>>
>>107743422
Bedrock is really nice, actually. I've used it for years. Just do read the documentation. You can install bedrock on your current Manjero system and then add other distros. Each distro is a stratum, including the one you were running before Bedrock. I never noticed a slowdown. It's like containers *however* there is interaction between the stratum, so you have a program in a a Debian stratum call a program that is in another stratum, or use a font that is in another stratum. Bedrock is stable.
There is just one little tiny concern. He plans to eventually rewrite it in Rust.
>>
>>107746549
Thanks for some constructive input.
I skimmed the docs at the website and looked through some of the open issues at github just to get a feel for what I'd be in for. The hijack install was what caught my eye.
