For me, it's VCV Rack.

Seriously, why reinvent the wheel when rack supports Jack, most midi keyboards, integrates well into ardour/flstudio and has one of the largest module collection available entirely for free

i listen to traditional electronic music, all your digital synthesizers sound the same, sound sculptors are a meme, and if any composition from this era stands out, it is only because of the artist's melodic virtuosity
