grab any shitty mainstream book from the pop computer science shelf that is only coping and dumbing down the older good books
that's the one

SICP

old, outdated, holds some religious zealous practices as truths, built on beforeknowledge that was better
>>

>old
still relevant for x86 desktop application development
>outdated
is not, as it basically praises frameworks and their both polymorphic and modular characteristics
>holds some religious zealous practices as truths
true, but it doesn't mean they're wrong
>built on beforeknowledge that was better

If you know history, you know this is true.

There's no programming book that directly comes from the source. It would have to be written by a post-singularity superintelligence to be comparable.

Any programming book made by some pajeet with nothing but contradictions
>>
It's Knuth's behemoth 'The Art of Computer Programming'.
Newfags here only know how to argue about Rust despite never having used it professionally. 15 years ago Knuth's work would have been the first comment in this thread.
Nobody here even knows how to program and it shows.

If you want to learn foundational stuff like iteration etc then there are better resources. If you want to learn how to build a programming language there are better resources. If you want to do a form of applied mathematics with a computer there are better resources. I don't get why scip is shilled today, it is a relic for a time when mathfags were seen as pinnacle of what a programmer should be but then they all got blown the fuck out by the unix crowd that were more interested in results over ideas and that is why lisp died and mathfags have never really produced any software of note.

while the concepts presented in scip aren't actually used in commercial projects they still provide foundations for well structured software development
