>>106416842nta, but there is a huge difference between daemons and literal demonic images. Also, ever since I first saw this word I called it day-mon, even after I found out it's supposed to be pronounced demon. It actually makes no sense to call it demon, just like it makes no sense to pronounce GIF as JIF.
>>106416855I think the license is better because if a corporation wants to use BSDs they can take the code and fuck off and leave the core project alone but if a corporation like microsoft wants to use linux they will poison it from the inside and ruin it for everyone

>>106416490>Very slowNah it depends. In some ways it's far faster than Linux. FS is slower for sure, other stuff. But it's safer and more sensible.
>>106416855This is how you know OpenBSD is the best because that's how literally EVERY Open Source project, be it Linux, a BSD fork, or just some random Open Source software or app works but they only bring it up as a criticism for the one and only certified glowie-free OS on the market that consistently filters jews and troons.

>>106416971Beastie's a generic BSD mascot, he's for all the BSDs. The orb is FreeBSD's
>>106416081>>106418196>FFS and BSD disklabelsEvery other OS has a real filesystem except this piece of shit. Even FreeBSD deprecated disklabels now, and is way ahead with root on ZFS by default. Heck, even ext2 would be a million times better than OpenBSD's slightly upgraded FFS, originally dating back to BSD4.2 (1983!)I appreciate the tech they contributed to other OS'es (OpenSSH, PF, etc), but their lack of a journaled filesytem makes it completely unsuitable for running in production.
>>106418225OpenBaSeD
It's 2025 and OpenBSD still does not have a journaling file system. This disqualifies it for any serious use, including personal/home use.
