They're tracking you regardless anon. A VPN doesn't solve that. It doesn't magically prevent cookies or tracking requests.

I don't fully trust any vpn but mullvad is the most trustworthy at the moment at least. They have taken a lot of steps to protect their customers privacy, including with payment options, and there isn't any court documents showing that they have given out info about their customers. And the owners aren't shady as far as I know.
>>
>>106424827
I love their great features like portforwarding or dynamic ip management on wireguard... oh wait.

So you get a VPN you can't even torrent well with that will keep your ip saved on their server after you disconnected for at least 3 minutes. Trustworthy af.

Just get the horsefuckers vpn.
>>

no split tunneling? no thanks

If you need vendor support to figure out split tunneling, you might aswell just get one of the kike technologies VPNs and give up.

No, but it does prevent me from receiving constant cease and desists. Worth the $5/mo =)

>>106427646
Its featureless, but the real benefit is that they've proven themselves multiple times publicly when handling feds.

Every court document so far has been
>give us your fucking logs
>we can't
>give us your fucking logs or go to jail
>we can't, we literally don't have them
>>
If Mullvad actually turned out to be some glow op, I think it would be the most impressive one of all time.
I can't think of a service that has had such a high ratio of consensus of it being 'good enough at least' from nerds on the internet over the last 10-15(?) years or whatever.
Like not just here, but various communities and non-anon people.
So if it was actually some sort of glow project, they succeeded to a degree that I wouldn't have thought possible.
Since you know, most things tend to glow in the dark.

>Its featureless, but the real benefit is that they've proven themselves multiple times publicly when handling feds.

Genuinely believe that the token hashing and portforwarding implementation and general payment&tor integration are features. Especially the portforwarding, i believe almost all other VPN Providers have huge glowie issues with their static implementations.

interesting. Do you have any sources?

>>
>>106428209
It's not known to be part of cape technologies so, this is likely some other glowie shit.
>>
>>106424925
The fact that they're allowed to exist testifies against them. Last privacy-oriented service that walked the walk was Lavabit, and it didn't end up well for the guy.
>>
>>106427937
qrd on port forwarding vpn issues? whats the angle?
>>
>>106428391
Static port forwarding is a 1:1 traceable mapping of your torrent activities to your account and your device. You can mitigate this using things like perfect privacy default port forwarding or the dynamic forwarding like the cryptostorm does to be only traceable while you are actively using the connection and the information which port is mapped to which ip/account is only available on the server you are connected to.

Basically: if the port mapping persists after you disconnect, your VPN Provider is pozzed. And while you are connected, any VPN provider can deanonymize you, because the servers by definition need to be able to route packages to your ip and therefore know your ip.
>>
>>106428450
Forget to add to that: Wireguard port forwarding is also pozzed because you cannot do dynamic port forwarding without dynamic address management which wireguard doesn't/
>>
>>106428450
>Static port forwarding is a 1:1 traceable mapping of your torrent activities to your account and your device.
how so? i can see that be a case if glowniggers could tap your home connection, see the outbound port and then tap outbound connections from your vpn to see the same port leave their network but tunnel itself should mask our outbound port right? how do they map it
>>
>>106428505
Multiple ways. Easiest is this: Hey here's a court order to tell us which account is currently using port 1523 and to log onto that server right now and tell us the ip that is currently connected to that account. Oh that account has been assigned this IP for a year now? What's the payment processor that was used to create it? Or the glowie method: Let's DDOS that port and see which connection drops, thats our guy.
>>
>>106428541
how does dynamic port forwarding prevent the first case? surely that would get you as well if they can seize servers at the time you are connected
the ddos method is pretty clever though
>>
>>106428569
True, it only mitigates the issue. You can still get fucked the moment they have control over the server while connected but at least they can't easily correlate the port to your identity after the fact (assuming no logging). But if the assignment is static like on most providers it's essentially like having a static log that says "everything that happened on port 12345 is linked to this account".

>>
>>106429814
That may be the case, but until the specific law that exists that allows Mullvad to exist in the way it claims to...does it matter?
I mean until they actually do something about it. As in change the law.

https://x.com/mullvadnet/status/1895532564795818273

Chat Control 2.0 and Going Dark are already hitting Sweden. They already voted for the first chat control and now they're voting for 2nd Chat Control and additional anti privacy, anti freedom, anti speech controls over the internet. The threat to Mullvad and any internet services in sweden, Europe is not from gov going after no vpn logging services like Mullvad, but breaking the encryption middleman entirely and snooping directly.

Anon, the country is currently run by the center/right parties, all the far left can do currently is seethe

Doesn't matter, they're all retarded boomers that vote through retarded shit in the name of children and safety. Only a matter of time before they ban VPNs or enforce some gay law that requires logging etc.
