Is it true that nowadays it's easy to pirate without risk just following a Reddit megathread?
>>106424884there's risk. unfortunately that subreddit has had linked some dodgy shit before, not that it matters anyway.. the entire subreddit is just shitposting, memes and children that have just discovered piracy in the last 5 minutes or so.
>>106424884It's waaaaay better than it used to be but you still have to have a brain. The wiki (like FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH) isn't real time informationAlways check the current status of the uploader, whether they went insane recently or something, even if it's someone "reliable", there is no reliability in this area
>>106424884it's all automated now it's great
Nowadays it's easy to pirate because you can get clean steam files, apply steam emulation on top of it and play nearly any game you want. Add online-fix and you can even play online leveraging steam online services via spacewar.I just make my own repacks for me and friends. It's as easy as copying few files and editing a config.
>>106424884It's easier now than it's ever been. I've been pirating for about 11 years and haven't had any viruses for the last 10 because I figured out where to get everything. Nowadays a lot of these wikis will simply tell you which sites you should choose and they're mostly right. https://fmhy.net/ is definitly better than the one in OPs pic.
>>106425074>online-fixall this online fixes are virus, i cant say more.
>>106425106Sure thing, fed.
I wish I could pirate games without feeling immensely paranoid after doing that
>>106424884its a lot easier when you have an isp that doesnt give a fuck (fios) or have the option of only using private trackers
>>106424884>nowadays it's easy to pirate without riskIt was never hard as long as you are white
>>106424884Absolutely not. Nowadays more than ever, you can't find any pirated copy of anything without a bonus virus inside.
>>106425176Then just use a VM?
over 30? easier than everunder 30? impossible every file is a virus
>>106425176As long as you're only downloading from well-known and trusted sources that have been operating for years why should you?
>>106425074>clean steam files and how do you know they are clean? ask friends to run sha256sum on their copy and trust them?
>>106425074Based cs.rin enjoyer
>>106424884i get notices from my ISP at least once a month. they don't do shit and have never discontinued my service. spectrum is my ISP
At this rate, all I know is I wish I never lost my backup N64 and Super Nintendo roms. ffs
>>106427162Just redownload them, they're not lost media.
I wouldn't torrent games anymore like I used to, can't be fucked risking it, but movies are fine.
>>106426748I compare the sha1sums of dll's and .exe's on steamdb by hand.Someone tell me how to use the manifest file to verify. Is that even a thing? I'm pretty sure the hashes are contained within it.
>>106424884>torrenting with a vpn that doesn't allow port forwarding
it doesn't require a fucking encyclopedia
>>106427162I'd be surprised if there wasn't some packaged up torrent out there that contains every known SNES rom. I have no idea if it actually exists. I'd just be surprised if it didn't.
>>106427316Retard, both of those clients have port forwarding.
>>106424884I've been pirating shit for nearly 30 years now, never bothered with a VPN, and have gotten exactly one sternly worded letter. Nothing else.
you aren't going to get sued for downloading games
>>106427268Is it possible to get the manifest from official sources without owning the game?
