Pic related is what a peak imageboard looks like. No sharp corners or design language that only 40-year-old virgins understand.
I'm coding my own board from scratch and I've found great ways to make anons tantrum autistically.

>1. Implement user accounts instead of captcha.
Anons will go apeshit at the mention of user accounts. Anons think they're "protected" or "anonymous" if they don't have a user account.
I've had this discussion with 4chan fanboys so many times it's insane.

>2. Update 4chan's outdated CSS file
Another way to make anons screech is use design language that actually makes sense and looks fresh. A bit of border-radius even. Anons will throw a fit, because they think whatever 4chan did in 2008 is what everyone should always do.

>3. Actually code your site well
4chan is just a single .php file called "imgboard.php". It's 10 000 lines long and some of the worst code anyone has ever seen. It's uncommented and nobody has any idea how it works, not even the owners of this site.
Because anons have a digital Stockholm syndrome, they say it's "peak coding" and wouldn't change a line. If your site isn't spaghetti like that, anons will scream and say it's too processed and not kino like 4chan.

>4. Make your site FOSS and don't make money off your users
4chan users like to talk about Linux, anticapitalism and claim to be anti social media. Still they use 4chan which is a commercial website that makes seven figures a year. Most anons also use Discord despite screeching about rounded corners, capitalism and modern social media.
So if you want anons to like your imageboard, it absolutely needs to generate profit for its owners and display ads. Once again the coping anons will find ways to defend this while still miraculously retaining their Linux/Stallman superiority complex.

its not about that for me personally, you could make me register an account but still present me as anonymous and that would solve both issues.
anonymous posting is simply better because i can be a retard in one thread for posting a stupid opinion or question and then get a sincere answer. i wouldnt do that type of thing from my identity tied because now my identity is soured by looking like an idiot.
this creates all kinds of group psychology and cliques where people group up and act like hyenas against a lion who disagrees with them, etc.

You need to go back to ylilauta.
We don't want you fags here.

A lot of modern imageboards do this. Your username is hidden from other posters and your name is still "Anonymous", but you have all these neat features like managing your old threads and posts, following/favoriting threads.
Just seeing your stats like how many posts you've written in total is pretty cool, makes you cut back on your doomposting time a bit when you actually see it

Technologically speaking, Ylilauta is so far ahead of 4chan that it's insane.
4chan is like a horse carriage and Ylilauta is a space rocket.
4chan's source code is getting so old that modern browsers struggle to display it correctly. 4chan uses HTML and CSS from the early 2000s

Yes, the modern internet is so much better.

4chan being retarded, broken and old fashioned is good.
