pixels can emit additional information other than the color without affecting the final image. effectively, this is used for subliminal messages and steering your mind with light waves outside the visible range, although not visible they still hit the eye and the brain register them as an input. most displays are compromised (monitors, tv, smartwatch, vr...)

A photon does not only carry a colour (wavelenght), but also the incidence of light, which informs your eye of the likely distance that photon came from.
