I have never seen a feature ruin a platform as much and as fast as Shorts. Don't get me wrong, YT was already bad before it, but its implementation really took the site's usability to a whole other level of shitiness.

Another thing that's really fucking annoying is how they started automatically translating video titles. I know that for Americans it might be a novelty, but many people outside America speak more than one language, and having a video in a foreign language – that you speak – really gives instant context of what you might hope from that video and so on, which you lose when they strip that information by translating it to your native language. They remove context and confuse bilingual users.I wouldn't mind that much if the option only applied to languages that the person doesn't speak. I don't know, they show you some random video from Germany with a translated title or whatever, okay, I guess.Although, ideally I would still like to have an option to just disable automatic translation

The front end I use allows me to disable sharts in general as well as remove them from showing up in my subscription feed.
