^This, until Framework or some other company starts selling laptops with quality ARM processors Mac will remain king in this department, unfortunately. Sure Qualcomm, Microsoft, and Samsung tried this but that was an epic fail and relied to much on over hyped AI marketing gimmicks, the battery life was impressive but nothing else about those was. They were basically glorified smartphones with keyboards.

There’s nothing comfy about macOS/Macbooks. I’ve been using them for over ten years for personal use and use a Thinkpad for work. I stupidly got a MacBook Air M4 a few months back. macOS just feels like a toy operating system. It’s like a fancy web browser. A Thinkpad and Windows/Linux is what you use as a tool to get real work done.

I'm tired of this Apple horseshit.

What do vaxxers, round earthers, defenders of the official account of 9/11, and anti Apple activism all have in common? All of them are characterized by a welcoming acceptance of facts that they are victims of a totalitarian authority. In the case of Apple, the “totalitarian authority” are a bunch of greedy salesmen who have devoted tens of thousands of highly paid hours towards making you pay out your arse for the smallest upgrades. “Apple sucks!” is a proven theory with a basis in undeniable truth, and its supporters have spent years belittling Apple employees, developers, and users. And it’s our responsibility to never make this fucking stop.

Apple works for almost no one, and works for less people than is even possible with Linux. Most of the truthful attestations you’ve heard about that it’s cucked are just that: the blunt truth. And if you insist on living the dream, then keep hating on Apple, champ!

The single biggest issue is Rosetta being a huge pain in the dick to deal with AND they're removing it next year. It's pretty close to being one computer to rule them all, (and for $3000+ it damn well better be,) but the fact that you can't just play any game you want makes it a fucking nightmare to deal with for the remaining 20% of my computing needs.
It's also gay as fuck but it is what it is.

How the fuck can it become my personal computer if I cannot store what I want, how I want? Why would I pay a billion dollars to get 1TB storage in 2025? How can I trust its reliability if the locked down shitty SSD will inevitably fail by being write raped and I cannot easily replace it?
I can slap 4x4TB TLC NVMe ssds on my motherboard now or 2x4TB on my laptop

I some of them might actually be mac employees. In one of these threads I said something like "Ok, sell me. I want to have different themes like something Aero. A few months later Liquid Glass came out.

Honest question: Do Macs have the option for "suspend to RAM" style sleep, or do they have the Windows "I don't actually ever go sleep" Modern Standby bullshit?
I have a HP laptop I have to keep always awake using PowerToys because there's something wrong with its ability to snap out of S0 mode (allegedly to do with the Ryzen 5 Mobile series CPUs), and if it ever does go to sleep it has to be hard reset. Which is a really fucking annoying problem for a laptop to have, and apparently no one- not Dell, not Lenovo, not Framework, no one who makes Windows PCs has S0 sleep (the one that works) anymore, it's all just Windows modern god damn fucking useless standby, and at this point I will seriously consider paying the Apple tax if I can have a laptop plus the privilege of unplugging the thing.

It so weird how badly Apple fucked everyone up. Incel and gAyMD got absolutely shat on with better price to performance and actually competitive performance. Qualcumm had the arm market seemingly cornered only to have their intel moment and now have been stuck playing catchup and sticking their chips into Microshits half-assed ai OS mess that no body cares about because people only buy windows for the software compatibility and if you take that away even a little bit or make it work not as well, then nobody will care (clearly).

internally, Apple operates as a very isolated company
unless you specifically are part of the OS design team, you would not learn or be involved in anything related to the next OS versions before the public
we read the same public rumors websites as you lol
>>
>>106455747
If you work for Apple, then I have to ask why you operate a tardsquad here. Literally what is the point of spamming a board with like 200 unique users, 24/7? if there were actual apple shills here (doubtful but let's assume the schizo idea isn't so schizo), then most likely it'd be done by whatever sub-sub-contractors the marketing org hired for online ads, and it might be that literally no one in Apple itself is aware
I mean Apple doesn't exactly have a use for the approval of /g/ of all places...

>>106455894
>So it's not possible someone from the core OS design team lurks this board?
it is possible, but core os people here most likely would be OS/kernel engineers, not the design org
but yes, it is technically not impossible for a design person saw your post
but visionOS is quite old by now, and it's what actually inspired the whole thing so that seems more likely to me
>I'm glad a big tech company is doing something different for a change
yeah I like it too, and I'm actually surprised that it works so well, given how resource-intensive I would have thought it'd be (inb4 "muh shaders" people: ok yes but I'm not a gfx engineer so I wouldn't have fucking known)
