>I'll keep using windows 10 till 2032
I don't get it. What are you gonna do when its the year 2033? Why not learn Iinux now? Is it just cope to accept jeetware eventually?

The likelihood of Windows 10 actually lasting until 2032 with the extended support is very low. It'll "work" for a very narrow spectrum of use cases, revolving around existing business licenses. They will absolutely find a way to make it unusable for your average home user / gamer. 1-2 years, tops.

this retarded nigger doesn't know about LTSC

My point is: LTSC is going to be gimped in unexpected ways. They will make it unusable for the things you care about, and barely usable for your average business use case. It'll technically work, but not in the ways you need. Microsoft 1000% needs as many people as they can migrating to Windows 11/12 so they can push AI stuff. They've spent like 100+ billion on it. They are not going to let you stay if you're just a random schlub.

i already used it exclusively for a year. now tell me why i should use a more annoying and cumbersome operating system for the next seven years instead of windows 10?

See above. Microsoft is going to put the screws to LTSC versions to make it unbearable to use, while still technically supporting it. If you're on Windows for kernel-level anticheat stuff, you can forget about that within a year or two, at the very least. Adobe and other major developers will probably start making their stuff Windows 11+ only because 10 is technically out of support. Even Steam will do it. It'll be agonizing. If you switch to a modern Linux distro (Mint, etc) you dodge all of that.

It's already getting gimped, I did a fresh install of Enterprise LTSC in my native language then converted it to IoT Enterprise LTSC later to get the HWID activation, and it seems that on the latest update if you uninstall edge completely it just ends up borking the OS because it makes accessing the settings spin up the CPU to 80% and with every click makes it laggier and more unusable. What the fuck is the point of escaping microsoft jeetware if the entire OS relies on edge now. JFL

>I don't get it
linux desktop is still trash in 2k25, as simple as.
I've been using various flavors of linux desktop at work for over a decade, it has always been utter dogshit with random issues and limitations all over the place, the latest being gnome-shell crashing on ubuntu 24.04 at boot, it has been acknowledged in bug tracker in 2023, it's still an issue in nearly-2026, how utterly incompetent can these people be?
also in 2 years I've had my (and others) bootloader fucked twice so I had to chroot from a usb dingdong to fix it, again, utterly unacceptable, I don't have this issue on my yocto distros because I'm not a fucking smoothbrain and I know what I'm doing, canonical people obviously don't.
at work all linux desktop users have access to sudo because we have so many issues with gnome/gtk shitness that sysadmins had too much work dealing with us, now we're excepted to fix our shit ourselves or to use windows like non-linux devs in other teams (we can't).
I oculd go on with gnome-disk crashing mid formatting, NetworkManager not recognizing new rj45 connection, nautilus crashes at startup randomly, ubuntu auto-update that you have to fight to disable but then you have to re-enable if you want to upgrade the ubuntu version, dmesg full of random retarded bugs, plymouth segfault a lot for no reason, etc, the list is endless and it's the same with arch and latest vanilla software.
>What are you gonna do when its the year 2033?
use whatever windows ltsc iot edition that will be released at the time.
>Why not learn Iinux now?
I know linux very well, I've been writting software for it for over a decade and I build/manage yocto distros, i know how trashy it is on desktop.

linux is unbeatable on server and embedded but the desktop situation is HORRENDOUS and I already deal with all this shit at work, I don't have any reason to make myself miserable at home too.
