>CRACK CRACK CRACKno thx i stay with pulseaudio
>>106446817I still don't get why it does this. How does changing the volume cause so many issues?
>>106446817The reason why you get crackles on some stuff (I reckon games, I only get them on games unless I fix it manually), is because pipewire now honors whatever latency the app asks for. If games ask for 5ms of latency, it'll try to give that. You can fix that by changing the minimum allowed latency.
>>106447042i get crackings on mpv to and on firefox
>>106447042The problem is programs requesting different latencies at the same time. My music player requests 1024 but my browser is requesting 3600. Then if a UI element or notification comes in requesting 4096 everything goes haywire for a second before calming back down. You can see the errors in realtime with pw-top.Don't even get me started on easy effects either. The fucking crystalizer causes a million issues with more than two audio sources at a time.
>>106447138Easyeffects is the worst piece of fucking dogshit ever. It randomly breaks and gives me zombie-tier sound, also heavy on the CPU. A port of a fucking Android app (JamesDSP) is vastly superior.
>>106447042Why would it do that?Surely adding extra latency is never as bad as causing cracking?Due to speed of sound being pretty slow humans can cope when audio isn't perfectly synchronized. A second is obviously too much but a few ms is fine.
>>106446817>pulseaudio>unknown sound coming from no where>EARRAPEno thx i stay with jack, alsa, and oss4
>>106447186Did you even read what the guy wrote or do you just type random shit?
