1bn startup idea.Transmitting data over audio spectrum.Who's building this with me?
really hate my job lads
>>106448125How do I get work as a contractor if I can’t share a portfolio because none of the code I have made professionally is mine to share?
>>106448238I remember the thread where this meme started. the whole idea was to talk about shilling absurd or outdated tech to VCs. but you got stuck repeating that boring shit
>>106448262>he thinks anon wasn't serious
Any IT pros here? I'm a basic bitch in a Helpdesk role onsite that also helps users remotely, and I still barely know shit. Where do I even begin to learn? I set up a server on my old android as a project, any other lil projects I should be doing for network and security?
A previous employer reached out to me a few days ago, offering me a position as head of engineering, which would pay about $200k. I currently make $110k. Why should I even bother putting in my two weeks instead of starting immediately on Tuesday?
>>106448815>put 2 weeks notice>current company tells you to fuck off now>didn't "BuRn BrIdGe" and get a pay bumpwin-win in my book
When did you first hear about Bitcoin? I remember screaming at a friend to sell sometime in early 2013
>>106448775most people get lucky and move into a higher level.the rest pick a niche and focus on it.
>>106448882Back in 2011 and was going to buy like $4k worth of it in 2012 but was talked out of it by a retard then again in 2015. If I had bought them then, good chance I would be a millionaire now and not doing jackshit.
>>106448882in like 2007 i heard about it as an alternative currency and not a Le Ebin Financial Instrument. I was a wee child and did not buy any as I did not have money
>>1064488822011 from a guy in college

>monday morning drivan into work likeanother weekend wasted
>>106449631now that miku is worth marrying
working at an MSP is hell bros. I just want to go back to working for a comfy local company. I was such a fucking retard to leave in 2022 because there wasn't any room for advancement/promotion. Now I'm making like $12k more but I'm doing like 4-5X the work.
>>106449749Moshi Moshi grass greener desu
We made it! It's Monday, frens.>android phone decided clock and alarm can be disabled, and didn't ring>it's 3rd time that happens I think I need a new phone or to start using the company issued phone or tablet more.
>>106449883Works on my machine
>>106448262>he hasn't invested in the audio feedback loop data storage device
>>106449749I work local, it's hard work (the network is a mess)I like it
>>106449924Please provide the reproductible steps, or disk image.
>>106448882my childhood buddy used to post about it on facebook in 2011. he became a druggie in his teens so I assumed it was some underground way to purchase drugs and hire hitmen on the dark web.then in 2018 he posted that you could buy 1 litecoin for the price of gas, which at that point 1 LTC was like $25. helped me buy a new PC
>work for a small organization>all of our critical business data exists in one location>an obscure cloud database platform that isn't even designed to host the kind of data we're shoving into it>the service's API (unfinished) hasn't been updated since 2017 and we're pretty sure the 1 guy who was maintaining it doesn't even work there anymorei'm no sysadmin or anything but this is fucked up, right? i feel like we should at least have a local copy of all this data on-site.
7 more hours left to go home
>>106450724enjoy a donut while you wait.
>back to work>need to kms increases exponentiallycrazy how that works
>Back to work.>Expect over 9000 meetings with clients.>Only 4, being two of them optional.Easy-peasy, I'm probably doing the first one, skipping the second one to hit the gym and them do the 2 remaining ones in the afternoon (the only ones where attendance is mandatory and I need to actively participate in the call).
>>106450891that's very kind of you apu my stomach is upset so i will pass
>>106450944Don't worry, you'll want to kill yourself as a NEET too.
>>106451149Can confirm, except as a neet you don't have the choice to stop being a neet (good luck getting a job), whereas as an office drone you can decide to quit whenever. I was extremely lucky to get a comfy office job out of fucking nowhere after 2 years neet'ing.
>15 minutes into Monday morning>receive a DM from a junior>"hi how are you?"
I barely work and make 98k at home. I just rot on my bed while my mouse jiggler makes it seem like I do work. And in few cases where they assign me a ticket I just use chat gpt to do its
>>106451206I mean, you kind of do have the choice to stop being a NEET. Just get one of the deadend jobs that normies usually get and that's that, you're not a NEET anymore. I'm starting to pray for these assholes to fire me so I can claim unemployment benefits for like 2 years, it would be a big pay cut but I wouldn't have to deal with their bullshit for 40 hours of my life every week
>>106451215How nice of them.
Genuine unironic question: how do you take care of your eyesight? My myopia and astigmatism gets worse every 2 years lmaoooo i dont want to buy new prescription each timeI know it's because of my phone use rather than my laptop/desktop use.I envy guys who never had to wear glasses being 10+ year in this industry while still pulling up allnighters or whatever
>>106451395it's just genes brostaring at phones etc is memes, it doesn't have any effect
>>106451395>how do you take care of your eyesight?I ignore the warning signs and refuse to go get checked.
>>106451395>f.lux>lower than 50% brightness on monitors>morning sunlight exposure to the eyes (for me usually by 6:50~7am)>keep glasses/lenses clean all the time ideally each morning>don't consume caffeine post 7pm>7 hours of sleep minimum>get healthier (exercise, good food, etc) to make those 7 hours of sleep as quality as possibleyes these are general health tips, but you want to healthmaxx while cutting monitor staring time.t. used to work 2~4 night shifts weekly for a year and felt the fucking effects, especially with every car headlight blinding my bitch ass.
What are some stacks you like and some you hate? >Spring/Java seems like a clusterfuck>C#/.NET is similar to Spring/Java but a bit more reasonable>Ruby on Rails is okay but slow, hard to debug, a v niche and AI codegen seems to negate its positives>Go is really comfy and clean but sometimes it feels like you need to reinvent the wheel
>>106451395Huge font size and scalingf.lux or similar Warm, dark color themes with good contrast
>>106451778Like: Python, Django, Swift, RustDislike: .NET, Java, PHP, RubyMeh: Go
>>106451878I've always been under the impression that Django is pretty much just Rails for Python, but I've never used Django. Does Django just do it better or are they fundamentally very different?
