i've realized what i want from devices is actually really simple. I don't want internet access. no updates, no social media, no email, nothing. my favorite devices to use are an e-ink tablet and an mp3 player.what are your favorite dumb devices?
>>106448702not technically dumb but i adore my cat s22 because 2gb of ram isnt enough to do diddly fucking squat
Probably my old gaming handhelds, sure the PSP isn't exactly a feature device because it can do a lot, I use it exclusively for games.
>>106448709Cat? More like Fat. As in fat ass phone in pocket making bulge that any weiner would pale in comparison to.
MP3 player was a game changer, I barely touch my phone anymore, and I'm fiddly all the time but now I'm browsing through my offline music library and cover art instead of the internet. I could get myself an emulation device next.
>>106448702>dumb device>MP3 playbackpick one
>>106448709I have a basic at&t flip phone that can only call and text.>the buttons double press though, so it makes texting annoying having to backspace all the time. The good old flip phones were better.
>>106448709>cat s22intredasting, I didn't know fancy flip phones even existed outside of JapanI'm still using pic related but I'm sure I'll be cornered within the next five years into using something that can run android applications either by banks or the government
>>106448702Don't say it loudly or they'll start pozzing these things up with all the spying slop but leave it hidden so normies don't notice.

>>106448702Probably an mp3 player I have.>>106448757>PSPAlways wanted one as a kid but my parents wouldn't allow it back then.>>106448951Most banking can be done via web browser on a PC, "banking apps" are massively redundant.
>>106449767>Most banking can be done via web browser on a PC, "banking apps" are massively redundant.mine wanted people to validate purchases exclusively via an android/iOS application instead of a code, insisting that it was becoming standard, but did end up backpedaling thankfullyI wouldn't be surprised if my country started enforcing official android applications for purposes similar to that of ID cards, with them becoming gradually less optional as old people die
>>106448702>e-ink table?
>>106448702anybody gave up on both smartphones and dumb phones and resorted to homephones?
>>106449027They already ruined both things, my MP3 player weighs 50 grams and has a battery that lasts 50 hours, try and find one of those today. Same with E-readers, the last good one was the first gen Oasis, which was so good that Amazon turned around and went "what the FUCK are you doing" and quickly replaced it with the 2nd generation, which made it bulkier, heavier, and physically impossible to access the battery. Seriously, the 2nd/3rd gen cannot ever be fixed, it is impossible to remove the glue around the screen without breaking it.
