How does the average person land a tech job?
Help desk monkey is a tech job.
>>106448790>Since we get accused of hiring H1Bs lets just keep doing it.>keep doing itNice admission of guilt.
>>106449315What are (You) personally gonna do about it, though?
>>106449315>Let's keep the same policy we've always had.>>106449380Apply then report them for discrimination and fraud. It's already working for the jobs.now massacre.
>>106449406saar that website is virus do not redeem
>>106449315Reminds me of the 2017 era>I'm not a nazi but da leftists keep calling me one so I became a nazi
>>106448790normies get tech jobs by graduating at the right time (you missed it), the rest by being autistically good at whatever they do
>>106449315That's been openly happening for over two decades. The government knows and doesn't care. The only time anyone gets in trouble for H1B discrimination is when it's caste vs caste. >>106448790The sad and annoying truth is that right now the best path is to start your own product company and hope you either get enough from it to make a living or a bigger company comes along and wants to buy you out. Running your own company, even a small one, requires many skills beyond just knowing how to write code but the current reality is that most companies are only hiring H1Bs and trying to use AI to reduce headcount, with the H1Bs being the very last to go if there are layoffs.
>>106451320>most companies are only hiring H1Bs and trying to use AI to reduce headcount, with the H1Bs being the very last to go if there are layoffs.most tech companies have had inflated headcounts because investors keep shoving money into them and that money has nowhere to go except hiring more people for the fuck of it. now they're getting rid of a lot of that extra fluff, but they don't want to spook the investors so they try to maintain the headcount on paper with h1bs who contribute nothing for cheaper, or by saying they have replaced 10 of their workers with 10 AI agents
>>106451405I wonder how much more worse itll get once AI bubble pops. I’d wager most of tech jobs would disappear since investors will be spooked for a while.
>>106449380offer a better value proposition than H1B workersoh wait, I forgot that the jobless people complaining about not getting their promised 6 figure salaries are incompetent lazy retards, while H1B aspirants are intelligent, top of their country, ambitious and hardworkingsucks to suck for the losers, I'll have fries with that chicken big Mac thank you
>>106448790Reddit is mostly only visited by Indians and Americans at this point. You can assume all idiots on there are either the two or obviously bots.
>>106451416well even if the AI bubble pops, it doesn't change the fact that investors are addicted to punting all their money on tech speculation because the margins are crazy. the bigger reason why investors might be spooked from investing into anything is the overall state of the economy that has been fucked into retardation by the process of quantitative easing causing asset inflation, which has caused a massive irrational wealth transfer towards asset owners, which in turn has created a huge amount of faulty incentives for economic forces. if being a retired homeowner earns you more money than being a gerontological nurse in the midst of an aging population crisis, then something must be terribly wrong
>>106451405>>106451486>Muh investorsNah it's greedy company owners ready to do anything to earn more and thinking they can cut costs by hiring retarded thirdies. Start-ups kill themselves with this strategy, but most big names are too big to fail so they can continue with this charade a bit longer (and would get a bailout by the gov anyway like Intel).>>106451320That's the right call. Make your own company now when normalfags are still in denial trying to get into non-existent jobs. Once everyone make their own company no one will be able to sell anything, just like the saturated app market
>>106451738>Start-ups kill themselves with this strategyi don't think they're the ones hiring H1Bs but yeah>but most big names are too big to fail so they can continue with this charade a bit longer i think h1bs are going to make these companies run even worse worse but let's not pretend most tech companies aren't just abusing 1-2 free money hacks that essentially run by themselves, while having the rest of their manpower for window dressing, avoiding taxes or for sheer hubris stuff like metaverseanyway you don't even really need to speculate on the competence of h1bs to know that regularly attriting your workforce and replacing them for more easily abused workers is only a short term strategy. AAA gaming basically did that without h1bs because they could always wear workers down and still find more passionate schmucks that would tolerate those conditions. eventually that pushed all the talent out and now the industry is in a slump and losing to robloxintel is uniquely positioned to get bail outs because it is the only source for american chips, and they know it. i don't think other tech companies will really get direct bail outs because it's not like they're super important like banks during 2008. but i mean the whole system is becoming increasingly rigged so taxpayer money ends up funding the magnificent 7 some way or another so you are right in a way. but only intel is essentially incentivized to fail repeatedly for more taxpayer money
