>>106448939certs are a scam, you most likely do not need them

>>106448939I'm a computer repair tech.I didn't need any certs. I mentioned that I had one that expired a while ago, but most of my co-workers don't have any. It's not that technical of a job, but I know it'll make good resume filler for when I branch out to something more high-tech.Also, they give a dollar raise each for A+, Security+, Server+, and Network+, and will reimburse you for the cost of the test voucher. No retakes or course material though, but that's still a damn good deal.
I've never worked a day in my lifewagies get the rope
i havent got any, i did IT at bongistan college then got a job in an ISP call center, worked up from that. I have a couple of Azure/MS ones now but only as a job requirement after i already started working here.

0 unless I count the link I included in my resume after completing a completely unrelated course on udemy
>>106448939Uni IT Essentially none, but the more i do the more i get paid. And the boss wants to slowly sent me and a few co-workers to courses paid for by our department.
>>106448939Recently I accidentally bought a type B when what I actually needed was a type B. Stupid fucking niggers.
>>106448939Zero. I graduated during the dotcom bust when companies were mostly doing layoffs instead of hiring but back then, certifications weren't a big deal yet. In my case, I got somewhat lucky in that the company that hired me had claimed to a client have experiences with an obscure set top box OS that they actually knew nothing about. I had worked on some libraries for it before college and they needed someone right away to get their project started or the client would have figured out they were trying to learn as they go.
>>106449201For software development, that's mostly true. You'll find a few places using them as a way to narrow down the applicant pool but for the most part, they're not very valuable. If you're going into Infosec, you really do need them for anything beyond entry level. That industry is obsessed with cert, especially anything involving government contracts. The government often will use the DoD standards for evaluating candidates. Contracts with outside companies routinely require that they have a certain number or percentage of workers with certs in the categories from pic related.
seeing type in all caps make it look like a fake word
>>106450886Who's gonna make the rope for you, niggerbrain?
