Nta, you can run your own matrix server that only you control who is on it. That's what running an instance is. CSAM means child abuse images from what I know. I don't want to trigger the glowies by searching for that now.

So i intalled it on my pi cluster at home, i have proxied it through a mini vps i own, the vps also host the voice/video chat. havent stress test it .
btw i tried installing revolt and other alternatives but they all failed to installed
